Tuning question

First off i will start with the bike. Its a 2011 750 with a Yoshi slip-on and a dynojet pc5.

Yesterday i took on the project of cutting off my cat and replacing it with a midpipe. All went well except one thing. Now that the cat is gone, when i first start up the bike the rpms will bounce a little and make the bike sound cammed for the first 20 seconds or so until it warms up a little. I can only assume that means it needs to be re-tuned. I have yet to have a day to ride it on the streets and see how the tune is that way. My question is, being short on money, can i go about tuning it without putting it on the dyno? How would i go about doing that and where can i get that info? Ive google searched for different tunes for the bike and PC but ive come up short handed. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Don't you have the auto-tune for the PC5?

Yep mine does that. Educated guessing, the ECU will make the bike run rich as its cold, just like a choke with carbs, as it warms up it leans out to normal idle mixture.

It will run a little different with the cat off but is quite possible it was like it before and that you just did not notice.

Tuning question

I love that cammy sound bud.....
Mine does it, K9 750 with a TRC Yoshi slip on, cat eliminated, PCV , K & N air filter , brisk spark plugs and I've had my computer flashed.....
But that sound is awesome, love it....
Oh and I run her on 100 octane fuel..

did you mess with the set valve at all? If so, there's extra work you need to do on top of that

I also have a 750L1...been researching

The PC is installed already but not an auto tune. When i was told about it, i was under the impression that the PC had auto tune built into it. I didnt think that was true but it could be.

the auto tune is a seperate peice of hardware that works with the pcv. you will need to purchase it if you don't have it.

As said, the auto tune is separate, you will need to have a bung welded into the exhaust and then hook that up to the pc5. It measures the air gas ratio in the exhaust and adjust accordingly.

You can go to power commander.com and download tunes for your bike. All you need is the computer and a mini USB cord.
