Yoshi muffler Clamp question

This is the piece that's around the can and attached too the bike. My question is, is this clamp suppose to be wrapped around my exhaust flush? The front side is flush but not so much on the other side. Perhaps the metal is bent?

Your talking about the clamp that bolts to the rear footpegs? Or the clamp that connects the can to your CAT or midpipe? What yosh exhaust is it?

Sorry should of been more clear. The clamps that mount to the foot peg. On one side it's flush the other side not so much. Maybe if I keep tighting the bolt the other side will become more flush?

typically that clamp is just thin aluminum with a rubber gasket underneath it....when you tighten the bolt to the rear peg the aluminum will bend to the shape of the can...

Yeah that's what I figured as well. Maybe I'm not tightening it enough. The there's a pretty big gap on the other side of the can

If there's still thread on the bolt showing I'd just keep tightening it. It should bend to the shape of the can. The trc is that wierd tri-oval shape so it might not be perfect. Every exhaust I've had my clamp always bent to the shape of the can with enough tightening

That is a pretty thin metal and bends fairly easy. When I put mine on I was able to bend it and shape it to fit snug to the can then I bolted it after I was happy with the fit of it.

If you put it on backwards to how it was on the last time or not the correct stack at the bolt(washers in the right place, clamps on the right side of the mount etc) then it will be out of shape since its used to being on differently and molded to that way.

My vance and hines cs one was not flush either but the metal like yours is thin aluminum and pulls into place with the bolt and nut.
