Bikes temp gets to 220, then wont start back up.

So, I have an 06 gsxr 750. I dropped it last year while riding, some damage to the left side cosmetically but its all fixed, just had to replace the stator cover because it was cracked in half. Now my problem is, that if my bike is idling and i let it sit for like 10-15 mins the temp starts to raise up to 220 and the fans kick in. But if i for some reason need to turn the bike off (to get gas, food, etc.) I cant get it to turn over again after. If i was to try and push start it might start over but i'm not really trying to do that all the time.

So my question would be, does anyone know of some kind of solution to this problem..whether it be a wiring issue or a sensor?

Does the bike crank but not start? Or does it just not even crank?

Yes exactly. When the bike is too hot it cranks but doesnt start. The crank seems to sound kind of weak when the bike is doing this. After it cools down for a while it starts back up fine.

My guess is that the battery is failing.
You can confirm this by putting a volt meter on the battery, replicating the condition, and checking the voltage while cranking. I suspect you will read less than 10 volts.

While you were cranking the bike or just resting?
