Dunlop Slick taking over 2 ounces of weight?

My RS10's took 1 ounce of wheel weights.
I installed this 451 slick and its taking over 2 ounces, I rotated the tire 180 degrees, and it's still taking over 2 ounces.
Is this normal?

I spun the wheel and the tire doesnt have any up and down runout.

The one time I had to add stupid amounts of weight is when I tried to balance a friends rear wheel with the cush drive still on the wheel. This kept the wheel from being centered properly.

Are the balancer spindle cones right against the bearings?

Yea, all tight no cush drive. The BST's are light but tire weight is tire weight. I might just have to weight the shiit out of them and see what happens.
I think I'll mount up the RS10's on my stock wheels and take them with me in case there's any issues.
I might call Dunlop tomorrow as well unless some guys here who ran slicks say its normal. Thats a lot of rubber and a stiff sidewall.

I run the 451's and sometimes I have had to add that much to get them to balance Its rare but happens and I have also had times where I didn't have to add any. I use lead weights so I cut them to what I need. When I'm finished the tire / wheel will stay anywhere I put it on the balancer. Don't worry about it racer just tape the weights and ride the girl

Thanks man, Im amazed the Dunlop rep called about 20 minutes ago after I sent a polite e-mail.
He said their base limit is 3 ounces.
It's taking 2.5 on mine. I agree with you JM, just balance tape and run. Thanks for the feedback yall.

Got the rear done, took 2 1/2 ounces, taped em up.
Funny how you start cleaning after a tire swap and you get all OCD and take all night just doin a rear lol.
Have to admit, looks like a track bike now. Do the front in a day or so, detail and get ready for the 2nd. Thanks again yall.
