removing 2nd air (smog and emissions)

does anyone know if removing all the smog and emissions or the 2nd air stuff help on performance any.

If you have the California model it will. If you just remove the pair valve on the "normal" model, then no.

how can u tell the difference between the cali model and normal model?

The only difference between the 49 state and the California model is that the California model has a charcoal canister to absorb excess fumes from the tank. It has no effect on performance. Some people remove it to save on a little bit of weight.

The PAIR system has no effect on performance either. Some people like to disable it to reduce backfire on deceleration.
