1997 GSXR 750 SRAD MOD. Questions

I recently purchased a 1997 SRAD 750 and have done a few cosmetic upgrades. Now I am wanting to extend my bike by 9.5 inches. The shop that is doing my work is telling me that I should only lower the back 2 inches but my lowering kit will either go 2 or 4 inches down. Does anyone know any reasons to not go the 4 inches or is it all about the look? They are also trying to talk me out of lowering the frontend is this a bad idea to do or is it ok? Thanks

Hard to say if this is a good idea without knowing the bikes intended purpose......are you trying to set it up for the drag strip? Is this going to be an extended swingarm show bike? (No offense but, I Still don't understand the need to do a 9.5 inch stretch on a stock 97 SRAD. I suppose thatís a whole different topic.)

Please keep in mind, Part of the issue with lowering a street bike too much is the reduction in ground clearance and the added risk of damaging the oil pan or exhaust as a result.
I also suppose it's safe to assume that you're not interested in a bike that will be able to take turns or achieve serious lean angles.
