Hazard Lights wont shut off...

So my brother owns a 2003 SV 650, yeah I know it's not a gsxr but I wanted to see what any of the tech guys on here had to say and get their opinion. This morning he went outside to head to work and he turned the bike on and the hazard lights were flashing. He hit the button to shut them off but no go. The button would engage and disengage... no luck though getting it to shut off. I figured he already hit up svrider which he's apart of but just wanted to see what you guys had to say. Could this possibly be because of the cold weather, since both his bike and my bike are outside throughout the night causing the button to engage, get stuck, and then somehow disengage without turning off? Is there a fuse that runs directly to the hazards or would this mean there's a connection being made to keep the lights on? Anyone face this issue with a GSXR?

No he doesn't have any additional alarm devices on the bike, so no sirens.

I was thinking that was the case or possibly a wire was exposed somewhere along the line... would an exposed wire along the line cause that if it where to touch metal? Im no electrician so bear with me haha. EArly this evening I couldn't find anything but when I'm not so busy we'll go out there and have a look and figure this out...

Most likely a bad hazard switch or bad wiring.

You can try unplugging the left switch pod wiring from the harness and see if they turn off, but the way these harnesses are wired there are a ton of things interconnected so that isn't a definite answer. Tracing bad wiring is a chore in 99.99% of the cases.

Thanks guys, I'll get on it this weekend and check the wiring from the harness and possibly begin this chore of tracing the bad wiring. Haha looks like my weekend is filling up fast. Thanks again guys!
