Well I figured I should start a race thread based on this year's results running in the SE CCS/ASRA events.
recap up to this point 5/15
Season Opener Daytona; *double points
Wow that track is nothing short of awesome!
I opened up going all out in 5 events.
SS Unlimited, SS Heavyweight, SB Unlimited, SB Heavyweight, SuperTwins.
Did decent. Lots to learn there. SS unlimited placed 9th. SS Heavyweight placed 8th. SB Unlimited placed 11th. SB Heavyweight placed 6th. SuperTwins placed 1st.
Second round was at CMP. *Twin Sprints
Wow was it windy! 5mph gust blew up sand from the traps that was a thick as walls. Decided running in the unlimited was too much for the budget as well as I was out matched by built bikes based on my skillset
Raced in 3 events
SB Heavyweight placed 5th Sat then 6th Sun
SS Heavyweight placed 2nd but DQ'D for not teching. Finished 3rd second event.
Supertwins placed 1st both events.
Little Talledega Grand Prix Raceway for the 3rd round
First time here. Cool little track that's super fun and fast! Got my times down to low 1
5/4's with little to no practice. That's 4 seconds off Greg Melka's expert times on a built bike so not too bad.
Raced 3 events
SB Heavyweight placed 1st both days with 1st overall both days.
SS Heavyweight placed 1st both days
SuperTwins placed 1st both days
The SB Heavyweight was by far one of my favorite races this year. Me and another racer were neck n neck the whole race. I scoped out his weaknesses and patiently hung on his rear tire. I late braked him going it the last 2 turns to grab the white flag but overshot T1!!! Gahhh so I hurried up to catch him and closed in tight to pull the same maneuver. He was ready and tighten up. I dove in deep and on the rumbles to take the inside pass...it was head tucked and on to the checked for the win.
