Both are a quality choice. The main thing is to keep it changed on a regular basis and you will be fine.

Royal Purple Syn. Oil Choice?

I run RP in my Blown BBC DragBoat . I want to continue with RP in my new bike as I am running it in my '83 GSX1100 Katana..air cooled its running the 20/50wt

I just bought a new '08 1K and ready to change the oil with a little over 600mi. on her now.
My question is down here in South Texas average ambient air temps around 100*
what would you guys run as far as viscosity goes ???
10/40 , 10/30 ????? or straight viscosity ???

Go to this thread, post #180 and you can download a service manual for your bike that will answer all your questions.
