What's going on everyone. Name is Damion, newbie here on the Suzuki side of things. My current bike is a 2011 BMW S1000 that I track and race. I just bought another bike for a secondary track/race bike, (2017 750). Looking to get some good input in here with you all and meet new folks. I'm in the Crestview area of Florida and LOVE the location to all the nearby tracks. Later.
Sorry for the long reply. I have been busy as all hell. To answer some of the questions regarding the feel between the two. I've owned the BMW for over 5 years and love it. It took a little getting used to before having a good feel for it. As far as how I feel about the 750, I will start with the obvious. The bike definitely has a good package from the show room floor. I love how light and nimble it feels. Of course the pull vs the BMW feels almost non-existent but that was to be expected. I feel that the bike will do well in the corners and braking should be interesting. I say this only because when you are lugging around a 450lb BMW vs a 420lb 750, I'm pretty sure I'll be able to break somewhat later than I was doing with BMW. I'm looking forward to the new classes in WERA this season with the new bike.
Lots of good info on the WERA site about setting up geometry. Jack the bike up, up, up. My bike sits a lot taller than stock. You can make the forks flush to begin with and shim the shock, but you'll probably want to get fork extenders at some point.
