Yoshimura Titanium Full Exhaust, Potential Purchase..

So, I found a guy selling what he claims to be a Yoshimura Titanium Full Exhaust for an 04/05 GSXR 600/750. I'm interested, currently running a SS Yoshimura that has been shortened due to crash damage with Suzuki factory headers.

Two questions:

1. Did Yoshimura ever make a full titanium system for the 04/05 GSXR 600/750? I can't seem to find one for sale today, anywhere.

2. How do I tell if the system truly is titanium? I'm guessing I'll be looking for spring clips as well as the obvious bluing of the headers that naturally occurs on titanium, are there any other obvious signs?

I made him an offer of $150 for all of it and he said that was good with him, what do you guys think about that for a full system?

EDIT: If they turn out to be stainless steel headers would it still be worth it?

Not knowing much, I thought they all came stock with titanium headers?
My former '97 GSXR 750 had titanium headers- stock- it had an aftermarket muffler- a micron

My current LiterBike also has titanium headers from the factory- and I was lucky enough to get it with
a newer titanium midpipe, no exhasust valve, and a full carbon yoshi muffler- without spark arrestor.

What kind of header is on it now?

Someone who knows Yoshi products better than I will chime in

To my knowledge, the 04/05 GSXR 600/750's did not come from the factory with Titanium headers. Right now my bike has the factory headers, I'm just thinking that titanium headers might be an interesting update.

I do have a contact at Yoshimura USA, I sent him an email asking about if a full Titanium system was ever produced for the 04/05 GSXR 600/750 but have not yet heard back and in the interest of a more immediate reply I thought I would post here. If anyone knows the answers to my questions please let me know!

I can kind of see that either way $150 is not too bad for the system, the muffle pipe does have some damage which is a little worse than I was expecting.

If you can get a full system for $150, it doesn't matter if it's made of SS or titanium. You would usually pay that for a used slip-on.

Yeah, I'm in the process of confirming what it actually is right now. I was told by Yoshimura that the production codes are stamped on the end closer to where the mid-pipe attaches, so once I have them I'll send them off to my contact at Yoshimura to confirm what this system is.

I think $150 isn't that bad either way, however the RS-3 titanium can that the seller is including with it has a considerable amount of damage towards the end that attaches to the mid-pipe, its crushed in slightly on the backside and scraped up badly on the outside. My current exhaust is a Yoshimura in Stainless Steel but it uses four bolts instead of spring clips, so what I might do is go order a Stainless Steel end cap replacement for mine that uses springs instead of bolts.

Thanks for all the help!

Aren't all the parts between the 04/05 GSXR 600/750 interchangeable?

Based on the pictures the seller sent me, the production codes stamped onto the headers for this specific system indicate it is a "high mount" system for an 01-05 GSXR 600. Apparently, the production codes for the 05 GSXR 750 are different, probably due to the length of the headers or the "high mounted" exhaust pipe. However, one would think that at least the headers would fit an 05 GSXR 750 since these two designations share almost every single part aside from engine internals.

So, has anyone ever tried fitting the headers from an 05 GSXR 600 to an 05 GSXR 750? I would think if the factory headers, or preferably if you've done this with Yoshimura headers, it would fit without issue.

Anyone?

I've already confirmed that it is indeed a full titanium system by contacting Yoshimura and giving them the part number. Unfortunately for me it only works up to an '04 GSXR 600 and is not compatible with an '05 GSXR 750 according to Yoshimura.

But now that you've joined in, is yours a tri-oval system?
