I pride myself in being a big buy :bounce. .Ex ball player. Im 6'4 300 and i like the ability of being able to throw the bike around.. How big is too big for the bike?

Honestly at 6'4" 300, I wouldn't even consider the gsxr. It will be quick-ish, and with your size, I would say using the bike to it's full potential is relatively non-existant. If you just want to cruise, and be uncomfortable go for it, if you want to be comfortable find a cruiser that fits your build a little better than the R.

I gotta disagree with these two. If you go and sit on a 1k (whatever you are interested in) and find your height isn't an issue (I don't think it is. 6'4 is tall but no gigantic) then the 1k should be fine. Obviously your weight will have a negative impact on performance and you will (99% sure) need to have your suspension re-sprung for your weight, but that liter will still haul your heavy ass and the mail.

Im with TLS on this one. I think size to bike ratios on either end of the spectrum all comes down to what your comfortable doing. I do think the "more upright" style of a busa or 14 or even B king or z1000 would be comfy for ME if I were a big guy but its all up to you.

We're not trying to get this guy killed here. We don't even know if this is a first bike for him, and I don't care how big you are, a busa is still FAST. Too fast for anyone with little to no experience on a motorcycle.

gsxr 1000-08
Ground Clearance 130 mm (5.1 in)
Overall Length 2045 mm (80.5 in)
Overall Width 720 mm (28.3 in)
Seat Height 810 mm (31.9 in)

gsxr 600-08
Ground Clearance 130 mm (5.1 in)
Overall Length 2040 mm (80.3 in)
Overall Width 715 mm (28.1 in)
Seat Height 810 mm (31.9 in)
theres really not much difference in the actually size of the bikes. what you will notcie is the 1000 has the more power obviously

hayabusa 08
Ground Clearance 120 mm (4.7 in)
Overall Length 2190 mm (86.2 in)
Overall Width 735 mm (28.9 in)
Seat Height 805 mm (31.7 in)

if this is your first bike definately be careful on it. yes a 600 will seem slow bc of your weight and size as comapred to a 1000.
ive seen guys weighing over 300lbs on 1000s and ride the hell out of them. some stretched and slammed some not.
hopefully this helps

I've seen plenty of big dudes on sportbikes, but they look like a monkey fucking a football. These bikes are designed for small guys. Don't let it stop you though. The bike has more than enough power for anyone.

exactly! Size wise, a gsxr 600 and a 1000 are basically the same. specially on the newer bikes.

IMO. up to 200 lbs and up to 6ft is perfect rider size

My friend has a very sexy Vrod that runs right there with 600s in 1/4 with barely any mods and on the street is able to mess with me from a dig (only cuz I have to feather to keep the wheel down, if I get it perfect hes done)

I should have added I already have an 05 1k. But have had to replace forks and do suspension because if weight to bike ratio. I think im going to keep it as a fun bike and get a busa or 14 by the end of the month. Fingers X'd. Just have to decide between the 2. Loyal to team Yellow..
