There are two versions of the diabolic. My girl wants the other one. I think when she sells the house, we may each get an rf1100. They seem to fit me better than the x12.

I still use it, but it's all scratched up now. Doesn't look as sick as the new ones of course.

The X-12 is nice and all, but for the same money, you could get something better. The RF is the real bang for the buck

I agree.
The noise level is only opinion.
I had the helmet a while and never had a problem.
When I got my AGV Gp-tech is when I found out I was getting a lot of noise. Although I would imagine an arai would do wonders.

Buttttt, I'm a Rossi whore, so I had to represent.

Go figure that the new elements helmet would become available like 3 weeks afterwards lol

I have the RF 1100 and at first I remember the wind noise being a little annoying, but I must of got use to it because it doesn’t really bother me at all now. You’re not going to need ear plugs. Where in Pittsburgh are you.

Nice looking Lid! If you do notice to much wind noise be sure to try the "Chin Curtain" that comes with the helmet, if made a difference in my old helmets. I just got a new RF1100 Enigma to replace my RF900 & RF1000 and will use for the first time tomorrow, we'll see how the sound compares. Have you priced the Face shields yet?

The goddamn visors are gonna be well worth more than the helmets as soon as they put digital speedo and tach on the corner, with an overview map on the other corner

If the noise bothers me I definately will try the curtain... and visors are refreakingdonkulous $45 dollars through shoei and 85 for a mirrored one....why pay all that money for a piece of plastic that costs them one cent to make????

seriously it cant cost them more than a few cents to make each visor, and then they go around and charge 45-80 dollars for a visor. Talk about pure profit right there. I guess you pay for the name and everything. If that isnt bending over and taking a big fat one I dont know what is.

Not much we can do lol, when a company other than Shoei can make the visor, the prices will drop

Unlike cars, motorcycle gear is a low volume business. Low volume = high consumer prices. The manufacturer doesn't want thousands of $$ tied up in inventory for months or years at a time, so chances are they build low volume which means higher costs which means we pay a lot for very little so they can maintain their business. If they do decide to build high volume, they will build a "hard tool" which is very expensive and they need to recover that investment. There's a "soft tool" option for low volume products but they don't last as long. Based on hard tool vs soft tool vs sales volume, they come up with a price that will make a profit and that they think people will be willing to pay. There's more to it but I digress...

Sorry for rambling, I spent 25 years in engineering and manufacturing and it gets habit forming to talk about it .

I still highly recommend shoei!
I have found that pulling the helmet down a little more and angling it more aggressively tends to lessen the buffeting.

a new exhaust is on the list and yeah it is super comfortable. It weighs in around 3lbs, but it feels like nothing is there while riding
