Arrow Going Green

When I bought my K6 750, I was completely disappointed with the color scheme - not because it's bad, but because it isn't ME.

$396 and 12 hours later (a month of waiting for the postman), I've finally got her looking the way I wanted. Kawasaki doesn't make bad cycles, they're fine. I love green. I prefer Suzuki. Now I have the best of both worlds. I'll post a follow up with more details over the weekend, but for now, let me just say that the cheap fairing kits are a ROYAL PAIN IN THE A**. It's like a copy of a copy, errors creeping in with fitment, alignment, and forgotten features. 3/5 stars - had I to do it all over again, I'd have opted for a better quality kit for up to double the price. The upside now, is that if I crash, it's only $400 for another full set to match, and I can probably negotiate a partial order.

I do like that color. Are you going to do anything with the tank?

It is a nice green. Not my thing, but it's not my bike.

I don't know, but I been told

Other hand I have heard it said
It's just as hard with the weight of lead

Thanks! Kawi green is too light in color for me, I don't want hi-vis, just true green

Thanks! And yes, in the mail already on its way to me is a set of custom cut TECH SPEC snake pattern tank pads. Thoose will fully cover the red swoosh on both sides. Pics coming soon!

I thought so, and it was thanks to Tekime & chicken_strippin in this other thread:

Snake skins would look sweet on that bike. Actually, snake skins cut down to that triangle shape would be pretty sweet looking too and fully cover it up, give it some character and might even help with some grip
Here's the history of those pads:
[QUOTE=Lagarto;3476233]So here's how it went...
step 1: call TechSpec
step 2: cut a template
step 3: mail template to TechSpec
step 4: pay for the work
step 5: install and enjoy!

They told me "Yes, we do custom cutting. No, we don't have any design specifications, make your own with cardstock or heavier paper." I opted for a manila file folder as the design I needed was over 11 inches long. My design came in at 15.5 x 6 at the widest points. I used a razor knife, straight edge, and the bottom of a quart can to refine the design.

I could have bought sheets and cut them myself, however, they do very nice edge finishing and use a CNC machine for precision, so I don't mind paying extra for that.

Badass! Can't wait to see those tank pads on there too! How cool they are custom cutting them for you too.

You don't see many black and green gixxers out there. I will live and die by the blue/black/white but you can't resist the black & green sex machine lol

For Halloween you should cover the Suzuki S with a Kawi K on the tank. Your GSX could go as a ZX

Take 1 was a bust, I've contacted TechSpec about a re-cut TO MY ACTUAL TEMPLATE...preview pic shows the basics, with a little red peeking out.

Thanks! I'm all about the black and green - and indeed, I've never seen another. I wonder if I'm the only one in Colorado, and how many exist in the entire world...not many I'd imagine. What really appealed to me was the fairings maker decided to do a green "R" on the sides (for the big GSX R logo), and I've NEVER seen anything but red for that giant "R". As for factory colors, other than red/white/blue/black/yellow, what other OEM colors have ever been made by Suzuki?

Your Halloween idea is very meta... I'm certainly tempted now

Doh! That sucks man, hope they fix it and fast.

The green R looks awesome. It's gonna look so nice when that tank is done. I haven't seen anything like it, nor any OEM colors other than what you listed. Unless you count grey/silver

After emails back and forth a few times, they agreed to re-cut it and pay for the both-ways shipping. It helped me that they accidentally sent a tank pro 2 instead of 6, which needed to be replaced anyway, so shipping wasn't that true cost of $12 JUST for the recut/reship.

Thanks! and indeed, I forgot about the silver ones. I found this nifty archive, and there's an orangy yellow K8 1000 (that color also was used for the 1996 750).

So apparently, Suzuki never dressed any Gixxers in Green, Purple, or Pink - but at one time or another used every other basic color.

Ruenin is a sad panda. I love red/black/white. But it's all about customizing to our own tastes. That red swoosh on the tank didn't even go with the original paint scheme. Not sure why it was there in the first place. Green goblin looks good!

EDIT: Nevermind. I figured out why it looked out of place. Your bike was already repainted once.
