A DJ on the Live 105.3 station in San Francisco suggested on his morning show that it was unfair motorcycles could lane split, and that it would be "funny" if drivers opened their doors so riders would "crash hard".
Another local says:
"I was listening this morning to 105.3 around 6:30am on the drive to work and got to listen to how it wasn't fair that motorcycles can lane split and how the dj wants to see someone open a door in front of a lane spliter because he wants to see them "crash hard". He downplayed what he said when a pissed off listener called but a couple calls later someone called argeeing with him and he was back to saying he wants to see motorcyclists crash. Ironically the first comercial after his little anti-motorcycle rant was for a Yamaha dealer."
The local communities here (Bay Area Riders Forum, South Bay Riders) are up in arms about this. Thouslands of emails and calls have poured into the station, the advertisers and the local press.

csdahmer 01-13-2006, 01:56 PM It just goes to show you that there are some pretty stupid people in this world. Why would anyone wish harm upon someone else for any reason, much less because they can do something that he can't. Some people just don't think about what they say before they say and think about the ramifications.
BallHawk3 01-13-2006, 02:31 PM yup posted yeterday...find the thread, theres some neat links that let you tell the DJ how cool he is. :bounce

PhqOphRacing 01-14-2006, 10:57 AM Losers like that are jealous because they dont have the balls to ride a bike. :2hard
I wrote him and a few friends of mine are going to also. A friend of mine also volunteered his r6 that he stunts for us to strap him on it and run him into a door.
AirAssault 01-14-2006, 02:17 PM If that DJ is so worried about us splitting lanes and thinks it is unfair...... :2hard
I think it is unfair that we riders have to get wet when it rains, Everyone in Cages (cars) should have to drive with there windows open at all times!!!!!
When stupid people are given the power to influence other stupid people. Stupid ideas will cause people to get hurt. To solve the problem we should kill all the stupid people, which will save the lives of the people with some intelligence.

stackle2 01-14-2006, 03:01 PM Wow...rather speechless for once...amazing how ignorant some people are...wonder how he would respond if someone popped a door in front of his brother or something....
05Gixxer600 01-15-2006, 03:27 PM I wrote them as well! I think personally if you ride a motorcyle of anykind you should email them and let them know what you think! I personally love to ride and think we should all stick together and back each other on shit like this! It takes a matter of seconds to write them and let them know that what he said is fooked up and not right and that he should get his ass beat! Last part you dont have to include but I did, also I belong to a Sportbike Club and we have our own local forums like I imagine many others do, I posted up what he said and included the link just to let others know that we wont just set around and let stupid people get away with bs like this! Im angry and I hope everyone feels the same way about this guy!
Submitted an e-mail. Just wanted to let them know that they should be proud that word of such an ignorant station has reached across the country, and that the DJ should be forced to attend every funeral of every rider his suggestion causes.
rideit4ever 02-16-2006, 09:04 PM well i won't get in to details but i let the dj know he's a big chicken shit and he has no balls!!!

+10 million. That would be what he deserves.
Any update to this? Were there any repercussions to this comment?

So if he doesn't like the governor he can go on public radio and say it's time to pull out in front of the governor while on his bike? I guess he would say something like that. The guy is probably going to be like a roach here some time soon even if it was a station stunt. Heck eveyone else likes to have fun. Just they wield some pretty mean stuff.
