I bought a gauge cluster from a guy in Deltona, Florida who claimed it fit an 03/04 GSXR 1000. I received it and tried to put it on my race car and low and behold it didn't fit. I took it to the local Suzuki dealer, Full throttle motorsports in Lansing, Mich. (great guys) and they looked up the serial number. The gauges came from an 02 GSXR 1000. No cross over of parts. So I called the guy three or four times and tried to talk to him about getting my money back or returning it for another and he won't return my calls. Fortuanately I was able to sell it on Ebay for what I paid for it. Lesson learned, once bit twice shy. You need to develop a relationship with someone you trust to buy parts. Otherwise you can get bit. Maybe there is a good reason why you have to have 50 posts on the site to sell parts! Have started to develop a relationship with a guy in Texas. He is straight up and garauntees his parts. I have had nothing but good experience with him.
Anyone else have a similar story?

Yeh man sorry to hear that! But you're right, if you're gonna buy over the net you gotta build a relationship with someone you can trust. Personally, even tho it's not always convinient, I prefer to go to the bike store........See the part, touch it, make sure it's the right one. Plus, it's a good excuse to go check out all the other bikes....

Man, I've gotten scammed too many times to count on Ebay. Hell, this one guy thought I was scamming him because it took forever for his item to ship from here in Florida out to Hawaii. After numerous phone calls with him, he pretty much forced me to give him his money back through PayPal. This was after I filed a complaint with the postal service to which he was aware of. 2 days after I refunded him his money, he got the f*in' package. Thankfully he re-sent me the money.

Low and behold, most motorcycle parts will not fit cars. j/k
Just recently I saw on the news that scams are on a big increase on eBay. Be careful who you buy from.
