Yeak, I have seen that before. I was going to do the sme thing with the 1K motor that I have laying in my garage. I'm sure it would have far more power than that one does.

skibum91
12-10-2004, 09:38 AM
I don't think you need more power on a kart where your ass is like an inch off the ground.

wickmaster
12-10-2004, 09:43 AM
I know this. But the motor is just sitting there. Know what I mean?

skibum91
12-10-2004, 09:44 AM
so do it then, won't be too hard to build it.

wickmaster
12-10-2004, 09:49 AM
Should not be that hard. If Darius can put a Ducati motor on one of these I can do a gixxer motor on one. I just have to find a chassis cheap. Those things are expensive.

skibum91
12-10-2004, 09:58 AM
Just build a chassis, you just have to get a hole of a tube bender and a welder.

wickmaster
12-10-2004, 10:01 AM
Welder I have. Tubing bender I can get.

skibum91
12-10-2004, 10:04 AM
so what you waiting for chump?

wickmaster
12-10-2004, 10:06 AM

I hate people like that. ......Duuuuuuuuuude, like, I got a busa and can smoke anything out there......BULLSHIT!!!!!!!!!! I can destroy a busa on a fucking 600. Just gotta know how to ride. 600's turn faster times than the liter's anyways.

skibum91
12-10-2004, 10:18 AM
yep, I've come across plenty of that, I've beat a dude that was on a busa in a 1/4 mi on a F4i. now thats just sad.

I just finally got a connection on aluminium so I can finally build one. I have the extra '01 1K motor in my garage to go in. I'm making an aluminium frame. Should save weight.

That little thing is BAD ASS  , boy that sucker was gettin it, and It just sounded so un-naturally crazy to hear that engine rip it...on that little go-kart, very SWEET!!

wickmaster
04-25-2005, 09:04 AM
You really think an aluminum frame is going to be able to handle that? Whats your bike made of?

skibum91
04-25-2005, 09:08 AM
Whats your bike made of? But a kart frame isn't the same shape, every other kart I've seen or ridden in is steel because of the design. My bike isn't made of aluminum tube.

wickmaster
04-25-2005, 09:09 AM
Anyways, my neighbor works in a mill. He gets what they call scrap, which is good shit to guys like us, for nuthing. If it has a little mark on it they call it scrap. He has 1/4" X 2"X2 tubing, angle, flat, whatever you can think of. I just got another welder so I can do just aluminium on it and keep the other one for steel. I'll just use an old quad that I got for free for the front end. Steering, brakes and such.

wickmaster
04-25-2005, 09:18 AM
But a kart frame isn't the same shape, every other kart I've seen or ridden in is steel because of the design. My bike isn't made of aluminum tube. I know what you mean about the shape. I was more or less thinking about weight savings. But when you factor in a 1K motor on a go cart, weight really doesn't matter much. The gearing is gonna kill it real bad. The small tires will be like having a 100 tooth rear sproket.

skibum91
04-25-2005, 09:24 AM
yea, you are going to be spending tons of mony on tires for the damn thing. it will be insane fast, and will seem way faster because you are so low to the ground

wickmaster
04-25-2005, 09:38 AM
HAHAHA Yeah your right about that. I was thinking about the buggy thing here also. Whatcha think?

skibum91
04-25-2005, 09:44 AM
I think it all depends on what you would do more. You'd probably spend less money in the long run on a buggy, but are you going to use it enough? The kart would be a monster though, and very unique from the fact that you only see this one on the net.

wickmaster
04-25-2005, 09:54 AM
This is true. I have the quads for the dirt and mud. The buggy might be hard on the motor. The cart would be like nothing for the motor to move around. Just finding a place where I would be able to use it would be the hard thing. I could go the the movie parking lots. They are pretty big. Buz it up and down the neighborhood, but the neighbors would probally not like that much. Are there any kind on suspensions on those things or are they solid? A little cushion would be nice.

skibum91
04-25-2005, 09:57 AM
On all the racing karts I've driven, no there is no suspension, and you feel everything. I don't think that the Buggy would be any harder on the motor than a normal bike, maybe get dirtier than normal. And if you don't have a track near by, not sure if I'd want the Kart, cuz I know the neighbors wouldn't like it. haha, but they can't catch you!, lol
