Very nice. A quick question tho... I know that the picture is an optical illusion.... there are actually motorcycles in those pictures but.... How far do you have your forks dropped through your triples???? Holy Crap it looks like two inches!

blondegixx
03-14-2006, 08:24 AM
2 inches in the rear & 1 1/2 in front. I like my feet flat. I'm thinking of raising her back , now that I'm more comfortable. Everybody says it affects the handling...I really cant tell because I'm a rookie!

Very good way of getting into the swing of things,Gradually increase the ride height until you get comfy. And swap that 190 on the rear for a 180 it will feel much faster in the turns..

Having a wider tyre on the rear such as a 190, means that the lean angle has to be much greater to get around any given turn. By puting a 180 on the lean angle is smaller for the same turn. So as a result the bike will turn quicker and go from "knee to knee" alot faster. And be a more flickable bike.

how long have u been riding SuzukiGirl?. Yeah, but it can get pretty hot in the summer ( makes it difficult to wear all your gear; suffocating)

thanx Jase  How long do u think my rear tire will last?. I'm starting to get real comfortable ,especially on the curves ( so any advantage will help)

It's hard to say really,It depends on a lot of factors.Such as tyre compounds temprature how fast you corner. But if you do a lot of "straight up" riding you will find that the centre of your rear will get a flat section after as little as 500 miles ! ! and your front will wear into a peak with the font wearing just either side of the centre. Combined this will give you the feeling of "falling" into the corner, as you come off the flat section of the rear and into the worn part of the front. I would say that if you do have a squared off rear tyre more than likely the front will be worn so replace them both, you should notice a change in the handling aswell. Once you get the tyres sorted your confidence will grow you'll be getting your knee down before you know it

thanx Jase  How long do u think my rear tire will last?. I'm starting to get real comfortable ,especially on the curves ( so any advantage will help) Your rear tire for someone that does a lot of easy riding will last you 1-2 full seasons. My tires are usually ready to replace after 1.5 seasons. I don't ride hard, but I do ride. Let me change my statement..... I am in Michigan and our season is short. I maybe get 5K out of my tires max. But then again, I only got 1K out of my GSXR750 last year :D , but I was riding the hell out of that thing. I now ride a Busa and have no idea how long this tire will last. I took the first ride on it this past Saturday (106 miles) and you can already see some wear going on :headshake had to show the boyz around here that the Busa can, contrary to popular belief, can corner decently. All the garbage said, it's all about how you ride it and especially how hard. But replace at least every two years minimum for safety. Talked to a guy this weekend that had the original tire on his 2000 GSXR600..... had a bit of white line fever going on :infrandom
