I'm pretty much brand new to this site and am a little uncomfortable putting my business out in the open but i felt like i could vent here after reading many similar posts. My father was 58 and in perfect health but was suddenly taken from me in January by a massive heart attack, he was my everything, my room mate, my best friend in the world, just the type of fatherthat was always there nomatter what. He was a fellow rider for most of his life but it was always a custom Harley cruiser, what can i say, we cant all have good taste:) He always told me he wanted me to have him cremated in the event that he passes on and for me to spread some of his ashes off of a harley while riding but when i got the GSXR he told me he would make the exception aslong as it was my personal bike. Anyway last yr in May 05' i purchased a new 05' Gsxr6 in cash ($7767)OTD and 10 days later it was stolen and due to the fact it was payed for, i got $0/nothing/nada from my ins. co. Saturday March 25 which is this coming Sat. is my fathers B-DAY and i am picking up my new 06 gsxr6 in the oh so hott blk/gry and will be fulfilling my fathers wishes...Sorry to give you all the sob story but it damn sure felt good to get it all out

May your father rest in peace. I lost my father 4 weeks ago, he was 66. I'm sure your "pops" smiles everytime he sees you fire up your bike and go for a ride.

He better be proud, when he left me, my 05' sti and 04' srt4 were both in his name for interest rate and insurance reasons and they were both taken from me because i i havent established the credit needed to qualify for the loan amount needed on my own not to mention the house him and i were living in is being sold out from under me...I've made due and bought myself my own car, bike, insurance on both, and will be finding a room mate to get our own home...Again thank you all for the warm welcome to the forums

Your father was still young by today's standard and his death unexpected. Everyone should talk to their parents about wills, trusts, life insurance, power of attorney, final arrangements (might be in the will), DNR letter/statement, and other obligations they might have. When my fathered died he had all of it covered and it makes things a whole lot less stressful.

I am sorry to hear about your father, he went to soon. May he rest in peace. Yours also You DA Man, a month ago is very recent. May he rest in peace as well. My father passed 4 years ago and it is never easy no matter how prepared you think you are. :headshake I still can't believe he is gone, he was 78. I ride to his grave site a few times every season!

Sorry for your loss. It sucks. :( Just fulfill your promise to him. It will be quite liberating.
