I live in brizvegas and am on a '00 750. Alot of revenue raising goes on up here too so it's not just you guys/gals in vic, although you have 0 tolerence which has gotta suck!!!!!

Tracks......i am hoping to do the paperclip (QR) on the 13th aug if i can find the funds as i am saving for PI in sept. While i am on hols for the GP i will be doing race school with circuit breakers on the 25th sept so i am really looking forward to that. The only other track i have done is morgan park at Warwick whick is tiny 1.3k long and now have a 600cc limit there now. I will be in Port mac on the 8th or 9th sept and doing an oxley run with the old crew i used to ride with.

The waterfall areas are not a prob. But yeah - you still have to watch for diesel spills from trucks with full tanks spewing it out of the overflow. You will love PI. :thumbup: That and EC are supposed to be the smoothest tracks & best for bikes I hear. I am doing EC again in Oct. Do you go through Gingers Creek when you do the oxley? It's nice & twisty - bit damp this time of year though probably? We have done the loop through there and back through Armidale to Bellingen. It's a Long day ride!

Yeah mate i am dying to do EC and can't friggin wait....... :D When i do the ox most of the time we ride from timbertown and just up to the shop for brekky then back home but i will go all the way till the twistys run out before the walcha straight this time. It is a bit damp this time of year but in sept should start to warm a little so should be good for a run or 2.

well for the Sydney folk here i say now spring is apon us we all should get out for a ride togeather. EC next week ill like to get there but as im out of work due to being sacked because of my back of late which maybe another good reason right now to be on the track. But yep ill see if i can meet up with motovated "Daniel" and at least get some snaps to show. As for a ride day some where maybe along the coast on a sunny day would be nice. i dont know with yamaha but with honda's ya cant fine tune them if you put a pipe on as you can with a suzuki. Oh and welcome to the club. Hey Motovated you finally sold the old girl. should of asked me that yesturday a i was at the bke shop i used to work at. Ill ask one of the sales man i know and see for ya. I think i can recall one of them saying Nov. but ill check again to make sure as i might be wrong.

Usually when I ask a dealer about a delivery date - they don't even know. At best they give you Suzuki's PLANNED release date.

I've heard April.......thats a long ways away :(

I was only there until the second session. That was when I came off on turn 8 and totalled the new bike and broke my leg :damn: :damn: :damn: Will post up pics in the crashes section when I have them......

arrr mate! I hope you get better soon. Have got insurance and say that you crashed somewhere on the road. I know a mate who did that and said he had a dog or something and swearved. But i guess it would be hard as you have a broken leg. So how bad is the damage and what happened? Im sorry to hear what happened to you and ya bike. Bet you liked it for that little time it was. I know the people who own metro spares in silverwater and i can ask if they anything for your bike if that helps.

I asked a question in the Newb section but I guess it is specific to OZ only. How much are guys paying for insurance and who with? I have just got a GSXR 750 K2 and it seems like it is to expensive to insure.

hey mate im 21 witha loss and a claim against me, had my license 3 weeks and insurance on my 01 750 is like 900 for 6 months full comp. thats with suncorp metway

I had my K1 750 covered for 9k and it was around $420 a year (35 a month) But I am 33 with no claims and only 2 tickets in 5 years This is with Shannons. They wanted me to pay $835 a year to insure my K5 750 (now totaled) for just 2k more. I got it covered at 11k for $670 in the finish.... Western QBE will change the premium from $440 with a $2500 excess to $830 with a $350 excess - or some where in between - so that is the other one I would call.

I broke 2 bones in my leg and they were going to screw & plate them but decided to just put a cast on instead. It comes off in 6 weeks. I'm headin over to Stradbrooke island for Christmas, anyone from there? Only tourists there. Probably not even a single bike rider.

im 23 i have a k3 750, ridden daily, no garage, rating 1, im paying 1300 a year bikes insured 4 10k this is with west Qbe. im relatively happy with this as i used to have an xr8 worth 9k and was paying 1600 a year and the car was a slow nugget.........

The Gillies is one of the best rides in QLD :D I live at the northern beaches so I ride the coast to Port Douglas nearly every weekend. Get to ride the Gillies once every couple of months

Every Sunday a group of guys leave from the BP servo at clifton beach, 7am sharp.:thumbup: Usually go up the coast to the rex range (halfway between port and Mossman) then back to Elis Beach for brecky. Or we go up the Gillies and have brecky at Yungaburra, then down the Pamerston HWY to crawfords lookout then back up and down the Gillies again :thumbup:

hey sinfiddy Great bike and yes the TRE gives you that crisp throttle feeling, Makes the bike think its in 5th gear as the 1st 3 gears are slightly retarded to cut down on response to make it safer on the road. If you unplug it and connect the plugs with out it you will notise a bit of differance.

Anyone from Aus know where to get Frames / Forks / swingarm measured for straightness (and fixed) after a crash?

yeah i did know as when my bike was rear ended i was going to get it done. Ill pop into the bike shop tommorow such as i dont work there no more. Find out who does it and price maybe. Have you tried the old string trick? Also hows the bones healing up? Feeling better now?

Thanks Dylan. I thought about doing some measurements myself but don't want to take any chances. I want this thing to be spot on, especially being a track machine, it will be rode hard all the time and I don't want to take any chances. I have got my cast off, the bones are mostly ok but I need regular physio to get the thing moving again - its all locked up and is painful to try and walk on. May take 2 months to walk properly.

I think he is at Fairfield but hold me to that. Also i think my bike was going to be $250 to get checked. But im sure he will tell you cost as to what you want. Hope this helps ya out.

Fellow ozzies. From Adelaide, ridin a k6 1000 grey and black. Hang around the gorge now and then. It wasn't the best year as a couple of riders hit the deck. I won't say any more of it cos it just hits home. The 1000 is a true weapon. Up 4 tyres thou as too many wheelies have stripped the guts and it's tending to fishy now so time to start saving. If anyone from the usual spot reads this they'll know who I am. G'day to all of ya's.

hey dilbee im from hassall grove which is about 20 min from penrith, i got lots of mates on bikes too. One guy is from st clair and one guy live pritty close to the embassy in penrith. we should go on a ride one day!

id love to but as of the 11th i think ill be suspened for 6 months. Double demit points are a killer. I got hits twice going about 180 up a hill in 3rd i think, just a quick squiz up a street near my place. cop saw across a park and had to fang it b4 he finally caught me and i was nearly home too and didn't know he was coming and i was cruising again. Got sort of lucky, ticket for over 30km/h. 8 points ouch and it will be 3 months. Just the other day got done with a damn hand rader gun. 122 in a 90 zone. got over 15 for that one but still didn't help as its 6 points. now no more points and its going to be another 3 months after the 1st lot i think. So i think legally i can ride around the middle of the year. But ive got a part time job on w/end nights delievrry chinese food. So im going to lay low as best i can and cruise int he car earning my money. Its a risk but its all i got right now after being sacked from Westerns with my back injury. hey matey. Went down to another shop as all the guys around my town know my face or me. The only guy in Sydney who can check ya frame etc is Laurie Aldertons and his Number is 96092889. I think he is at Fairfield but hold me to that. Also i think my bike was going to be $250 to get checked. But im sure he will tell you cost as to what you want. Hope this helps ya out. He took it to garry at Smithfield and cost him $400. But it cost that price as you have to take everything off, otherwise it costs more. So theres a figure to go buy. G'day guys, So I rode yesterday for the first time since my stack 11 weeks ago. went to a local bike shop and rode a CBR600RR. Didn't like it apart from the looks. Got home and rode my K5 GSXR750 that I wrecked. It's unregistered and has no fairings or instruments - but thought I will go up a country road and see how it rides. Seems ok and I will have it fixed up for a track day at Eastern Creek on the 24th & 25th March. See ya there if anyone else is going. :bike: :burnout:

its "Home Box Office", pay per view movie channel i think, err but anyway, I didn't know about the open limit before i moved here, but when i found out the first thing i did was buy a sports bike & did advanced riding courses to take full advantage of it, but now im stuck with a weapon that i have no real reason to fully use all gears now that im stuck to 130kph (81mph) . There isn't anything much sweeter than to be able to redline in every gear & then maintain a high speed in top gear for long periods without needing to worry & keep watch for the filth. just watch out for the wildlife I usually would keep around 180kph (111 mph) to 220 kph (136 mph) depending on visibility. Clair martin has doubled the fines, wants to introduce a "points system" & has now introduced a "traffic branch" to enforce these new laws, it was a joke beforehand that nobody ever gets pulled over, & now theres a traffic branch to enforce the new rules & with them handing out points on licenses of course the stats will look better when it time for the next election. Vote Jodeen Carney and maybe we will get our open highways back.

I would speak to your local dealer and see what they recommend. Do you know whats in there now? If it's got a mix of anti boil / water it may need replacing with straight glycol or what ever its called (I don't know much about it)

as for your decal Eucalyptus Oil is great but also a soft cloth is needed and be very carful when rubbing to not rub too hard as it might leave slight scratched from your rubbing. You can also polish it of with just polish also. The trick with getting glue off is friction and heat. Also getting decals off a hair dryer to heat the sticker as then the glue will become softer and easier to get off. As for putting a decal on if you are doing this a spray bottle with water and a few drops od detergent does the trick. Spray a mist on the spot of the decal as when you place it on you can move it around a little if you dont getit stuck on right. Place on one corner and gradually lay it down trying to not get bubbles. If you do get a few small bubbles you can try and push them to the edge with something flat or your finger maybe or also a needle if you have to by popping the bubble. But if there is slight bubbles they also should settle in a few days.

Hopefully those extra deaths will make the pollies see the error of their ways and abolish the limit. For those unfamiliar with the Northern Territory's open highways [there's only a handful of them], they stretch for miles and miles in dead-straight lines across predominantly flat to very gently undulating ground. At any given point, you can see the road disappearing in a straight line to the horizon in front of you, and if you look in the mirror, the view is identical. Vegetation is sparse, or at least not very tall. Perfect conditions for high speed touring. The biggest factor in most road crashes is fatigue due to the enormous distances between major towns. At 100, or even 130km/h, it soon gets boring. The brain lacks stimulation and you nod off. You generally don't get this problem at speeds of 160km/h [100mph] or more. I took my Hyabusa up there a few years back & maxed it out. 300km/h came up at 10,500rpm in 5th gear. It stopped just shy of the redline and 6th gear actually slowed it down a tad. How awesome to do over 300km/h on a public highway- legally! My average cruising speed was around 220km/h with burst up to 280-290 passing road trains, but the best by far was passing a Hwy Patrol at 280! [about 175mph] As I approached from behind I flashed my high-beam & tooted the horn to let him know I was coming around- all he did was wave! Those days are gone it seems, but if the road toll continues to rise, something has to be done. With any luck, the limit will be removed and people will be allowed to drive according to the conditions again- as it should be.

Thats a sign of sensible road use and not wreckless when traveleing at that speed. Speed i see isn't the issue but knowing where and when to use it and oberservation when doing so is most important. Too many speed but cant or unprepared if a situation arises which can cause an accident or incident. If you are to travel at speed you should onlt do so if you can back it up with sensible riding/driving and have the skills to do so. :thumbup:

Exactly... that's why I flashed the lights AND honked the horn, to be sure that he knew I was not only there, but coming around. I've been to the Territory before and I know how it works. Even without the speed limit in place, they could still throw the book at you for dangerous or wreckless driving. If your car or bike is built for the speed you're doing and you're not doing anything stupid, they'll give you a fair go. Well, that was before the Government introduced a speed limit anyway. Now they've got $9Mil per annum to make up for in what's been lost due to manufacturers not being able to use the Territory's roads for their high-speed testing. I normally try to make eye contact with a car driver in their mirror before passing, just so I know that they know I'm there, but when you're approaching a car that's doing 120-140km/h from behind at 280+ that's a bit difficult! Anyway, let's hope common sense prevails and things revert back to the way it was, at least on the Stuart Hwy.
