Im in the process of replacing my front sprocket with a -1.
This ring was attached to the front sprocket retainer bolt, and broke under what seemed like little torque on the bolt. Is this ring suppose to break under the right amount of torque or did i break it?

Nothing is designed to break and then keep being used, get onto your shop and get a new one.

Shouldn't break, I'd bet the washer was on backwards. I'm not sure of your bike but the chammfered edge on the washer is there for a reason. Just guessing but I'd bet it goes towards the sprocket.

was there other pieces to that, i do not exactly know what you mean by the retainer bolt. but on my bike when i put my new front sprocket on, i torgued the alan bolt a little to much and broke the speed rotor. it looked like that and there was a center but it was broked clear off.
