http://x11.putfile.com/2/3813040718-thumb.jpg (http://putfile.com/pic.php?pic=2/3813040718.jpg&s=x11) This is my girlfriend and I from New Years at my parents house. Were are still in the market for a bike, but I love seeing what every one does to their gsxrs here. When we first met each other, we both said we wanted Gsxr 750's. I still plan on getting it soon (probably a 2004 or 2005).

I know about being careful that's for sure. I have raced dirtbikes for like 7 years and have gone down a couple of times, lol. The road is a little meaner to your skin so I have been told, hahaha. We have already got full riding gear, we just need the bike now. I am sick of wearing my new helmet and jacket around the living room.

BOUGHT MY FIRST BIKE, A GIXXER 1000. I'M SO GLAD I DIDDN'T GET A 600 OR 750. I HOP ON THOSE THINGS NOW AND FEEL LIKE I'M ON SOME CHEAP PIECE OF PLASTIC. DON'T BE A PUSSY, BUY A 1000, BUT DON'T BE A MORON WHEN YOU'RE LEARNING.

If that is your picture in the avatar doing a wheelie in shorts.... well, I wouldn't listen to him. I wouldn't even recommend starting on a gsx-r of any size. I started on a gs500f, and I'll tell ya, it saved my ass a few times learning. You ride it for a season, then trade up if you want. I currently own a k6 600, and there is absolutely no need for more power. You can still burn 99% of cars out there, insurance is cheaper, and you can compete in tons of track days w/ a 600. IMO, the definition of retarded is buying one of the fastest bikes on the market when you've never ridden. Of course, IMO. I'd recommend learning on something cheap, then buy a 750. Two of you buying new 750s never riding before.... well, I'd say VERY good chance of one of you getting hurt. Most motorcycle accidents are caused by others (not the cyclist). Think you can avoid everything on something like that? If you do, can your g/f?

I know I can. I have ridden many cbr 600s and even an r1 (way more power then I ever want LOL). As my girlfriend I know what you mean. I definatley want to work with her some before she drives on her own. Safety first!!!!

Fast as hell down the straights but just not got a clue what to do when a corner arrives :2hard

Hey, GoodLuck on the bike. From my experience, I find it easier to ride a 600 before I jumped on the opportunity of a new model 750 :) I Love it. Before I got my 600. I've ridden a TL, Hayabusa, Dirt Bikes, whatever and don't mean shit to me. I wouldnt mind riding a 600. I like handling better than speed most of the time. Speed is easy. GoodLuck to you and your Pretty Girl.

and even an r1 (way more power then I ever want LOL). I've ridden a few R1's (an '01 and '04) and i think my 750 is just as fast if not a little faster then the R1's were.... i wasn't expecting as much power from my K6 750 as i ended up getting. BUT DAMN I LOVE IT!!! :bounce

Yeah yeah I ride round guys like you on every track day I go on. Fast as hell down the straights but just not got a clue what to do when a corner arrives :2hard Anybody can go fast in a straight line..... A buddy of mine used to race in CMRA , and still only rides a ZX6-R, He gets faster laps times on his 600 than most guys get on 1000's. My first day at the track I was in the novice group with guys on 1000's and was passsing them in the corners all day long...on the outside with faster lap times as well.

Now that I have my k5 600 I would never want a 750. I have no need for a bigger bike and I definately will probably never use all of this bike's potential. This thing is light, peppy, and freakin FUN!
