Long Island

Any other riders out on long island, or queens/brooklyn? would like to meet up with other riders in this area, I know a bunch of people go up north of the city to ride but that would be an all day thing. even if it was just to meet up some place and meet other people in the area that would be cool too.

yeah I was thinkin about headin out there next week, more for just the meet up and BBQ than riding, always worry about not bein able to keep up :D don't worry about keeping up .... you don't have to keep up with anybody just ride at the level your comfortable with .... we always wait for everyone when there is a split or turn in the road .... we do a head count and make sure everyone is with us before making any turns or splits so you don't have to worry about keeping up .... you will get better and more confident riding the twisties as you go more and more .... and most importantly you will have alot of fun :thumbup:

Bring your ass fool!!! We all started somewhere!! Riding with more experienced riders, makes you ride better. I got some stuff for ya, at my house next week tools to help you ride better! Keith Code Twist of the Wrist Vol -1 & 2 on CD. Very good, i have been riding since i was 6, street for 10 years now. I still listen to them. They are great!!! If any of you guys want to come to my BBQ, just reply to my BBQ thread. SO i know who to PM with my address and #'s for directions. I need a head count for food and beers!! ct

so where everyone wanna meet for the ride to the BBQ? think Im the only one out on long island so obviously queens is on the way out.... my directions have me takin the throgs neck and then the GWB but I suck driving around anything past nassau so if you guys know a better way then we can do that, i know some of my friends that live out there dont like to take toll roads so they drive the long way around :lol:

went out to the city today, which makes that the longest ride I've been on lol... remind me never go to to the city and try to come back during rush hour. and if that wasnt bad enough, when I was coming back I jumped on my bike, girl got on back and went to head out and bike jumped forward and died.... so I did it again and it jumped again... then I realized I didnt take the lock off my front wheel :headshake now my front brakes jacked up, its like I have to pump it a few times before it will brake so I had to use my rear brake only which im not used to... so now I gotta get my friend to look at that.... dammit

I would have that checked out ASAP!!! Sounds like you $%^&@# the rotors. :headshake I would never do any serious riding with back brakes only. That is a good way to lock-up the rear wheel and fish-tail and go down!!! :headshake I forgot about the front wheel lock on one of my bikes, good thing I was just pushing it out of a space. ;) Happens to the best of us!!! :thumbup:

I am out in Suffolk, as well. Live out off Exit 62. I am willing to go wherever to meetup for a ride; looking for folks to ride with.

we have great twisties on long island, you just have to know where to look. i have a route that goes from old westbury to south hampton, all twisty roads.

Andy - Maybe we can get our NY/NJ crew to head out for a LI ride. What do you think? That would be closer to home for us, and maybe we find some really good roads. :bounce
