How good is Spies?

That race today, he owned Mladin!

yeah that was a nice race for Ben.

Hes won 5 in a row now. Hes beat Mladin the past 5 races, Spies is damn good.

Ok, Ben has won 6 races in a row :thumbup: and thats great but Mladin has WON 6 Superbike Championships .... :bowdown: He also hold the record for most wins in a Season, Which happens to be 11, Don't count him out yet :headshake

mladin is a great rider, i'm not trying to take anything from him, but i think that it's great to see someone finally challenging week in and week out. spies rocks!!!

Maladin is a great rider... :thumbup: But that`s the problem being #1 :bowdown: Everyone one is out to beat you.... :arsenal It`s very hard to stay #1 for as long as he has, spie`s is an up and coming rider that`s very hungry with a bike that Maladin has helped to develop into what it is... :thumbup: If the bike had not been developed to this state by Mr. Maladin it might be a different story.... :infrandom :headscrat Not to say Spie`s is not a good rider also. I watched the race and he was working the shit outta that bike... :thumbup:

I dont agree with the last post......Every bike isnt setup like the others. Even though there both SUZUKI I would almost bet riding bens bike and then matts would be and extreme differance.

If I had to take a guess...I would be willing to bet that their bikes are very similar if not the same with the exception to mod to accomodate for height and weight differences.

Design not setup...Maladin had a lot to do with the way the bike is designed and why it works so well. Setup is a personal preference. Do you know what I saying now... :headscrat

He's puttin the hurt to mat this year. I think spies will take the crown this year sadly. Sucks, maladin losing 6 in a row, he hasn't even been close. Its spies time now.

Although I'm glad to see someone other than Mladin winning races, I would really rather just see some real good racing. Now Spies is doing what Mladin has been doing, and Mladin is sitting way back but still way in front of those battling for 3rd place. Pretty boring to watch.

Pretty boring to watch. very true but its still interesting to watch Duhamel,Yates,Zemke(ocasionally),Hodgson,Hayden(sometimes)and Bostrom battle it out in the 2nd and 3rd groupings.

If only Duhamel had a decent bike.... But I am biased. He's a french canadian like me! And I've met him personnaly... A friend of a friend of mine new him and invited him to a party I gave... It was funny. I was the only biker in the place so Miguel was basically "incognito" until he was introduced to me...Duhamel was at MY party... Wow. And to make it even more spectacular: Miguel is intolerent to nuts and had some (in a cake) by mistake JUST before coming to the party. So just upon arriving (and being introduced to me), he started to swell up and feel really bad. Well, the friend who was with him immediatly drove Miguel to the hospital where he was injected with epipen plus a full pint of liquid (thru a drip). Well would you believe that after that (took about an hour or so), Miguel CAME BACK TO THE PARTY!!! :thumbup: :clap: :thumbup:

I think that Mat is of course the best of his time :bowdown: , but I think that he should let Spies do what he does lately and bring first on in. Maybe with Mat in their domain the 3rd, 4th, place riders will ride harder, better, keep em on their toes. The chance of beating Mat would sure as hell motivate me if I was out there.

First of all. If you wanna see good racing, AMA is not what you should be watching. You should be watching MotoGP. Rossi's having a bad year, and of the last 5 GP's there have been 4 different winners. Its a great season with lots going on and lots of great racing. Second. Duhamel has an AWESOME bike. He's been with honda like FOREVER. If they weren't doing it for him, he would have gone elseware a while ago. This years bike may be having issues, but its his job to develop it.

Honda screwed up the 1000RR and came up short on power and being over weight. After 30 plus years of Honda ownership I was looking at the 06 CBR.. :headscrat I bought the Gixxer for the power, handling and geometry of the bike. I`m so glad I did. :thumbup:

AMA,WSBK,MotoGP...as long as it's 2 wheeled racing, I enjoy them all. It seems like the champs are going down this year. Mladin in AMA & Rossi in MotoGP. Don't know about WSBK because there really hasn't been any dominated riders like Mladin & Rossi. I understand Corser is pretty good but not dominating. By the way...did you guys see what Yates did to Duhamel when he smoked his tire while passing him in a turn? That was awesome!!!

I wouldn't take anything away from Spies. He's great. But when Mladin is comfortable on his bike, you cant touch him. Last race for example. From 7th to 2nd, then from 5th and win the race by 5 seconds. He is too good and has too much experience to be counted out. He will win his 7th championship this year. :thumbup: Personally I would like to see Yates up front in the leader board.

Yes ben has ben good...lol, But it has been said, Mat has put many yrs of developing this bike, Sooooooo ben is good at the cost of Mats imput. And that is the fucking truth!! Ben was sucking his mom tit, when mats was out kickin ass. Besides.....It Looks alot better in the suzuki books w/ 7 championships, Take that Honda.....I cant stand Honda. Do it the hoooooonda way..Ya right, as they sniff the suzuki fumes. Look at Honda as it enters into a turn, The fucking bike fish tails like a whale, Can you say heavy, Oh ya thats the Hoooooooonda way. IF any of you know any thing, The honda's are always Pig's in the shoot out, They have the most weight and are always the slowest. Suzuki the most wins in NHRA...Cuz suzuki RULES! :clap:

I watched the race and he was working the shit outta that bike... :thumbup: I think we all that own a 05 GSXR 1000 owe it to Mat Mladin because he did help develop the bike we so love. Ben Spies is good but it was Mat that did all the P R work for Suzuki and that is the reason he stuck with them for so long. I think the bikes are the same except for the suspension set up each rider likes (same with Yates) but it how you can take the bikes to that level a bike can handle and keep it there with out loosing it is what seperates the winners from the losers and Mat and Spies do very well. But last year spies was not as comfortable on the bike and was not as dominating as this year. So a comfort zone and trusting the equiptment is Key here and I think Spies is finally figured out the bike.

I totally understand what your saying! if you've ever raced any vehicle you would understand that not all drivers are the same and tech teams mod the vehicle to maximize that drivers strenghts and minimize his weakness. :cool:

I got my hole shot technique from Spies, man is a nut bag with some skills. Yeah credit to Ben for his style this year as he always comes out strong, but Spies is my man to take it this year. Incase you wonder what technique I am talking about in the hole shot. It’s the elbows up like a MX rider to as he bounces off other riders into T-1. Great style and keeps him up right. :bringiton

Spies is a very good rider, but Mladin has got alot more experience in wining. With only 29 point between them, I'm sure Mladin will up his game and pull out another championship. At any rate, its going to be another win for Suzuki.

who ever said something about mlandin untouchable when he's on... shame shame thats for anyone, and everyone has certain tracks they aren't good at. reguardless - spies is the man this year and will walk away with a big "W"
