FireAce 05-25-2006, 09:37 AM Buddy/co-worker I ride with... This is us after a house fire about a month ago, after 2 and a half bottles in (about 55 mins) now for those of you who aren't firefighters... 1 bottle of hard work is about 20-30 mins. And by hard work, I mean the amount of energy you'd normal use in a day, expended in 20-30 mins, in a 1400+ degree enviroment, pulling You (195lbs) Your gear (55lbs) Your tank (20lbs) Your tool (15lbs) And hauling a hose line around tight corners when ridget things dont like to move. All along hoping one of you doesnt go down so you'll have to haul their ass out. Breaking through walls, search and rescue, and extinguishment.
I'm on the left

Thats what Im hoping to do. But the chances of getting picked up by a fire department being EMT/Paremedic certified are like a jiggakabillion chances higher than going for it w/o it. So following my dads instructions ( he is a fire fighter for MDFD ) im gonna try and get a 2yr degree before I put 100% into the fire department. He said the end result would be easier and more benificial in the end.
bumblebeegsxr 06-05-2006, 06:57 PM Hey man.....cool job....... lots of respect for you guys
You must see some pretty gruesome shit out there huh?
I remember me being picked up off the ground by a few of them while one of them was in my face yelling "its gonna hurt man, its gonna hurt, its gonna hurt"! Anyway, I think he was MORE scared than I was! And I was scared. He looked nervous and shaky as phuck! Why im telling you this, I HAVE NOT A CLUE

I like the new pack itself, but we should have gone with the small 45's instead of the huge 30's... but whatever... 5-7 more mins of air is cool by me.
I'm also partial to the new scotts, I had surviv-air before, I wasnt a big fan of the masks, are they still the blue ones?
gsxr620 06-08-2006, 07:42 PM we have the smaller 45s...nice. looks like the overhaul got you and your buddy quite dirty. good work. is that morning pride turnout?
