Is anybody comming out to the Gandy Bridge tonight in Tampa? I'm going to have a rematch from last nights race. I have to make up for hitting the rev limiter. It's going to be My K6 1K with just a Yosh TRC slip on against a 2004 Kaw ZX-10R with a Muzzy slip on, smaller rear sprocket, larger front sprocket, and spraying. Last night from a dead stop I had him until I goofed and hit the rev limiter twice :headshake . Even then I almost had him only one and a half bike lengths away. Also from a roll on at 60 in second. There I completely took him. I even waived bye bye as the wind almost took off my arm. Hope to see you guys there.

Make sure you post up how long you spent in jail and how much it cost you when it is all over. Spend a few bucks and take it to the track where it is safe and legal.

I spent nothing to go to jail and about $6.00 when it was all over. 93 octane here is a killer on the wallet  . Just an FYI the State Troopers, Sheriffs, and Locals here all say that it is ok for us to be there as long as the group doesn't get too big, the crowd stays off the road, no burn out marks, and there aren't any body parts left behind. Not trying to pick a fight or anything but you can't say that you've never done it on your bike or in your car. If you say you haven't then you are just lying to make yourself look better.

First off COPS LIE. It is totally illegal for any cop to tell you it is ok for you to street race...period. I take it you do not watch the news. Local and state government have been pushing hard to make street racing a thing of the past. They are doing so by passing tougher and tougher laws. So again...let us know how much it costs you when you go to jail. Hopefully it is only jail you go to and not the morgue. Ofcourse I have street raced. I am 32 years old and have been hitting the race spots in Tampa since I was 15. I have been to jail for it years ago. I realized my mistake and learned from many others mistakes.

I do agree that the laws are getting tougher. However, law and state officials do understand that they did it, you are going to do it, and that if you tell someone that they can't the first thing they are going to do is what you just told them not to do. They are trying to eliminate it slowly. You and I know that if that would ever happen it would be past our time. All the other stuff I don't care about I was just trying to make conversation but when it comes to your cops comment I have to stop you there. I am going to start by asking if you have ever served on any homeland security force? Not just any armed force but homeland. Not that any other is any less or more important. The reason I ask is to see whether or not you understand the view of an officer. I myself use to be one. Now once in a great while one officer might lie to you because the power might go to his/her head and he/she might just want to catch you even if they know that they use to do it too. I'll give you that. The 99% of other cops though don't lie. When we say go ahead then go ahead. It's people like you that give cops a bad name and make everybody else hate the people that defend the homeland on a daily basis. All of the t.v. shows and movies with corrupt or dumb cops. It makes me sick. I may not exactly be on the right side of the law all the time anymore but I do know to stand by the ones who uphold it. :2hard

It used to be "all about racin" back in '94-'95, when the BP station was down there. The cops started showing up and videoing license plates on all the parked bikes and then setting up on the the bridges and Bayshore to catch people. They do have helicopters and depending on which way your going on Gandy, I'm assuming east, once you get over the bridge, it isn't a good place to try and outrun a helicopter. It is when you start to think that you can't be caught that you get yourself....well caught.

A year ago they were running the helicopter on Gandy. A friend of mine was video taped from the start of the race to the finish. He was arrested, car impounded, and the video was on the news. Guess the cop did not get the memo it was ok for people to street race on Gandy....lol.

Hate to break it to you but we are in 2006 now and things change. Now were are allowed to race as long as we follow their small rules. They really aren't too much to ask. Wish I would've read this sooner so I could have "had a laugh" with you. :infrandom I'm still waiting for you to show me where I said that I am an avid street racer. BTW thanks for all the people who are seeing the light and helping me with this post.

You just have to watch that if you decide to run. You had better know what you are doing and where you are going. I watched this one guy go flying past a local who couldn't catch him accross the bridge but for some reason he turned around at the end of the bridge and went back accross it. This gave them enough time to get some more units at the other side. Yes, in case you were wondering they caught him.

Shorty r6 is right. If you go racing through the city there are undercovers around. Not many but two or three. I know there is an suv not sure on the make and model but I heard it was nice and a Chevy Corsica. In Pasco the undercover is a Dodge Durango silver and a Ford F150 Interceptor white. No markings on any of these. One trick you guys might like is to stick in big groups with as many of the same color bikes as possible. That way it makes it harder to find you unless you have a goofy custom plate like wheelie like my buddy.

You loose your liscense for longer now. Your line about some cops told it was ok to race on Gandy is bullshit. No cop is going to tell you it is ok to break the law especially with the heat on street racing. I gurantee once the new fast and furious movie comes out the cops are going to be in full effect. Here is a quote from a real live cop...not one of the imaginary ones you converse with. Sgt. Rich Nalven, Pinellas County Sheriff's Office “I think right now it's kind of a time bomb, I think it's only a matter of time. Every Saturday night we've had street racing. Now we've grown to a size that is getting out of hand.” Sgt. Rich Nalven plans to crackdown on racers and even spectators. Sgt. Rich Nalven, Pinellas County Sheriff's Office: “They're gonna feel it, they're gonna see it and several of them are going to be going to jail.” http://www.tampabays10.com/news/local/extras/article.aspx?storyid=30919 Like Shorty said it is your life. Hopefully you do not kill someone else doing it or yourself. Let us know how much it costs you when you do get busted. Sorry I missed Wing House last night...too much rain. The cops are there EVERY weekend catching people....My boyfriend used to go to the street races but now they ticket people (and even arrest a few) that are just watching...I agree with all these other guys, that's just stupid. Not to mention how dangerous it is ESPECIALLY in Pinellas county, the most densely populated county in florida and the retirement capital of the country...not a good mix. Like they all said, just fork up the money and take it to bradenton speedway or sunshine, it'll make for a good ride too.
