So I got a beat up older gsxr-750, did a compression test, everything a-ok (130psi+ on each cylinder, cold), jetted the carbs with a stage 1 kit from dyno jet, synced them with a sync tool, and now i'm trying to get the bike running smoothly. I noticed on my bike that there are 4 nippes comming off the bottom of the carb, where they attach to the cylinder intake manifold, that are un-capped and have no hoses going to them. I'm wondering if they need to be capped, or if they need to have hoses going to them from somewhere. For now I capped em, but I couldn't find any diagrams in my clymer manual that talked about these ports. Note: I am not referring to the nipples on the intake manifold rubber boots, those are capped. Next question, my idle is ok, but when I rev the engine it floats at high rpms before settling down too. I tried enriching the mixture to take care of this but it never did anything. -Jason

Sounds like an air leak. Check your intake rubbers

Checked em, they seem air tight. So when i first start it, blipping the throttle gives a pretty good response, comes right down. As it warms up though, the throttle will start staying waaaayy high. It has good power though on open roads, I did get some hesitation from giving it gas on 4k, and a backfire... -Jason
