I crashed the bike yesterday, going down magnolia in the right lane, when a silver celica turned onto magnolia right in front of me. I swerved to the left lane, no big deal - but the car apparently didnt see me and kept going over into the left lane too. I hit the brakes and went further left. The front wheel hit the center median curb first then the whole bike went down on the left side. apparently this is when the guy saw me, he stopped and came back around. I picked up the bike got it going again and pulled off to talk to the guy. anyway to sum it up, the guy was really apologetic, gave me cash to fix the left side of the bike. almost all damage is cosmetic, except my elbow which hit the ground first. So theres the story..... fun stuff... Just got my shogun frame sliders on too.... now I need a new left frame slider :headshake new parts will run about $460 from Oneida.

Yeah real lucky, the guy gave me $500 on the spot then we (my wife & I) followed him to an ATM and he gave another $500... So I actually came out ahead. Left fairing is scraped deep & cracked, front fender is scraped pretty deep, kickstand got some scraped as did the left cover for the engine. If I find time I'll post some pics, there was a death in the family last night though so I'll probably be flying out of town tonight or tomorrow night...

damn, sucks you went down but at least you got paid! I'm pretty sure he didn't have insurance. He did not want anything documented, I really don't think anything could have gone against him since he made no contact with me. But he looked more scared of me and concerned of me filing a report than anything else. I got back up pretty quick and looked right at him, maybe thats also why he turned around? :hmmm:
