This is a post to a bunch of sportbike riders that live in North and South Lakeland...
Whats with you guys? I was in North Lakeland this morning and South Lakeland this afternoon in my work van and i saw maybe a total of 8 sportbikes and only one had a helmet and jeans. Guess what? The one person wearing the helmet and jeans was a chic. Most of the bikes were Suzuki's and now i see why we get a bad rep being squidzuki's. First guy i saw had shorts, short sleeve shirt and his helmet side saddled on his bike. He rode a blue Suzuki SV650 riding down North Lakeland. Next i saw a old ass flat black painted Katana and he was wearing the same crap except he had a tank top and had no helmet at all. The rest is the same story...no helmets, tank tops or short sleeve shirt and shorts. One person all day i saw was wear decent riding gear and a helmet. Lakelands traffic sucks and especially in North Lakeland. I would never dare ride in a 6 lane road without atleast a helmet. Be safer out there guys...its not that damn hot out there. Props to the chic that wore her helmet and jeans. Quit trying to look cool cause why learn a lesson before you start being safe.

I hate hearing that comment. People that make these comments are the ones probably wearing the shorts. Anything is better than shorts and common sense. I know first hand when i went down around 35mph. I only got a scuff on my knee where i landed. It better than just skin period. I'm not going on a bitchfest and im not going to respond to anyones smartass remarks that are not needed...but if this posts sinks into one persons mind and makes them change then its worth it.

It's the same way down here in Naples. 1 in 5 wears jeans and a jacket. I see people with no helmets every day on my way to work. I work at a motorcycle shop and everyone here rides. Even guys that ride cruisers wear helmets and jackets during the summer. Personally I wear helmet, jeans, jacket and gloves every time I get on my bike. Naples is terrible for traffic and OLD PEOPLE.

It is to bad we need a law to tell people what should be doing by common sense. But yes iam in fort myers...Many young Guns w/ out helmets. I wear a vanson leather coat, Arai helmet, and Gerrard Boots,Gloves, and never, ever get on a bike w/ out if !! I agree wear it all. Besides what the hell do you do when it rains. Cover your eyes...lol. Fla rain come fast and hard. I have to clean my face sheild many times when i ride...So you guys must eat bugs and rocks, Not to mention w/ a group of guys, as other bikes kick up rocks. Enough said.

I believe that's anywhere in florida. I live in the most densely populated county in the state and it just happens to hold the #1 retirement city in the US...good ol' Largo. Your sympathy is welcome :damn:
