My_gsxr 750 went down!

I got this from another forum I have some news to tell everyone tonight. Its my worst July 4th ever. Aaron Poat (aka MY_gsxr750.) is in ICU at UCI Medical center at the moment. I was a passenger in my friends car and all of us were going to Aarons sisters house in Corona,CA. A guy in a rsx wanted to race my friend so my friend just picked up speed and paced him. Aaron was crusing with our friend Emily in the carpool lane and we passed them. A few moments later we see Aaron fly by us on his gsxr. He comes behind a car and was about to split to the right.. As he was moving to the right the car in front of him also merged to the right..there was a car next to aaron on his right so he could not pass safely. He attempts to move back to the left and the car in front of him also moves to the left.. Aaron impacted the rear driver-side of the SUV.. I was in the Number 2 lane and i saw it all happened. we pulled over and came to a complete stop about 1/4 mi away. i got out of the car and ran all the way down to the scene and ran across traffic. by the time i got there, there was already help but no paramedics. they came about 2 min later.. Both Emily's and Aarons helmet came off before they landed. Emilys helmet was on the right shoulder and aarons helmet was near his bike. both were concious when i was trying to calm them down. Aaron is in ICU right now and we're awaiting his doctor to tell us what his condition is. Emilys condition: she has a broken thigh bone (i dont know the correct term), internal bleeding in her addomin. and road rash and possibly a fractured spinal cord. I noticed both of their families and they arrived asap.. Manny was arrested but we dont know under what counts. Probably wreckless driving and endangerment. Im going back to UCI in a little bit and im going to stay the night. Please pray for my friends and a fellow honda-tech member. i will keep you updated as soon as i know more info.

Update as of now: arrons condition was stablized this morning and he has been ok since then. he still cannot breathe on his own. his brother told me that he might have brain damage because one of his eyes are dialated and the other isnt. aaron has broken ribs, facial factures, head trauma, road rash, and face lacerations (sp?). before i lef the hopital the doctors were about to give him a full body x-ray to see where all the damages are since he is stable now. his heart is also bruised, thats what was causing the trouble to making him stable. again, tanks for everyones support. im going to see if manny has been bailed out yet by his father and hopefully i can take him to UCI with me.

Got this again another forum about Aaron. AARON's XRAYs.. shows that he has a broken leg, broke jaw/ chin, shifted pelvis, broken ribs and brain damage but we are not sure how severe it is.. aaron's on about 12 gallons of morphine.. ( his brother said).. and skin graphing should be takin place after the wounds are a lil healed.. EMILY.. umm.. she's draining a lot.. i saw it.. a lot of fluid form her is being drained out.. they're waiting for her lungs to heal before they can work on her spinal cord injury, and is temporarily paralyzed because she was refusing intubation.. the respirator is helpin her breathe without it, she'll be struggling for air..( MANADATORY) respiratory rate is low.. a lot of antibiotics and pain meds. update from honda tech Hi everyone, I just got back from the hospital. I spent the night again. There are no new updates on aaron except thathis brain pressure is going down and stablizing, which is good. I tried to visit emily but the doctors are only letting immediate family in because there were too many visitors last night and they dont want her body to be stressing. I wente back outside to ask her parents to tell the doctors to let me see her but they had already left. sigh.. I dont think i can spend the night today. Its just too hard. I had to explain to her parents everything that happened that day. I told them that I ran next to her got down on my knees and held her hand. and then she told me that she wanted to die because she was hurting so much. her mom broke down in tears. The doctors said that their blood bank has more then enough to go around so we do not need to donate for emily or aaron.

Every f'n stoplight I'm at some moron is trying to race me or keep pace, all they're doing is endangering MY life, not theirs... HT is going to do several car washes... so i figure if any of us want to help out we can either bring the cars down to get them washed or help wash

that really sucks to hear about. I hope they get better soon. I also hope the prick who was blocking them finds his dick losing a fight to a weed wacker. People like that who fuck around with other people's lives need to die a painful death. From what i read hear and at HT they were both great people and we can only hope they make a fast and full recovery

lastest update from HT aaron was moved down to the neuro floor and he has a fever. emily has a fever also. thats all i know as of tonigt. i was not able to see emily for 2 days. the only time i get to see her is when i sleep over. i mght do that tomorrow night.

Sadly I do not have good news to report about either aaron or his friend emily i got a call from aarons friend and he said that aarons kidney is failing. i dont know if its both or just one. his dad did mention something like this to me last night. his dad has a really soft voice so its hard to hear him. but a muscle in is kidney tore and its causing it to fail. -chris this came from my brother.. Emily had to be given CPR earlier. Her heart rate jumped to 180 today. AAron is not doing well.. that is as of 8:03 pm today! =( UPDATE AS OF 9:10 PM!! Pressure built up in her brain which caused her heart rate to go up. They are going to put in a probe to monitor the pressure in her brain. update as of 9:34pm everyone is crying. Will said they found out that the compression in her brain is pushing her brainback. mIght cause her to be brain dead. Might have to open her skull to relieve the pressure. Hi everyone. I couldnt stand seeing Emilys parents and family crying so I went home. I told her dad and her boyfriend to call me if there is an emergency. UPDATES: Emily had a stroke today which caused her heart rate to jump past 180 bpm. She recieved a cat scan and it reveled that there is pressure building up in her head and its pushing her brain back to its stem. A probe was inserted into her skull to monitor the pressure and amount of oxygen going into her brain. The extent of the pressure will determine the damage of her brain. Aaron was cleaned up. His face has color now. But his kidneys are failing. The extent of his brain damage are still unknown. They said that when they were checking his pupils today that the one that didnt didlate showed improvement. thats all i have for now. i was able to visit aaron tonight, but not emily.

Yeah i went to see Aaron yesterday also. He looks really bad!!! He has swands (excuse my spelling or pronunciation) in his brain that how they measure how much pressure is in his brain. His brain pressure should be equal or less than 20, but it's got up to 35-40 at times which caused his organs like kidneys to fail. The nurse herself tell us it doesn't look good, but we all have faith in aaron to make a recovery and overcome this obstacle. When i saw him in bed it looked really nasty, just put tears in our eyes. That big fella looked so helpless, i would i could of done something.

Him and his boss were in a pickup truck when to morons were drag racing and ran a red light on of the cars hitting the drive side of the truck ejecting my brother and his boss from the pass window. My bros boss flew and hit a pole breaking his neck and some other stuff. My bro slammed into a wall and really took a beating, punkcherd lung, broken jaw, head trama, scars on top of scars. My brother was in the hospital for months with a wired jaw and tubes all in him. He swell up like a balloon. couldnt even reconize him. His whole body! The doctors said he would be a veggie and his boss will prob never walk again.........within a few years, these jokers seem like noting ever happened walking and talking as if the doctors didnt know wtf there talking about. My bro now has a yahmaha 600R drives like no 2morrow. But very healthy now, so all you involved in this keep your head up Ive seen the worst from a accident and it may look like hope is stalling but have faith. update from aarons friend CHRIS just got back from UCI and his parents looked happier. def good stuff i wast allowed to see him tonight because i came during the shift change. i might go back to visit later. none of his legs are broken. his wrist is broken and both of his elbows are chipped. i dont know why they doctors said his leg was broken. his brain waves reacted to his mom/dads voices today which is good. the metal rods they put on emilys femur was an external rod. fatty tissue built up around the incision and some of it went to her brain. thats what caused her minor stroke. thats all i know.

The coloration of his skin was somewhat coming back, instead of being a bright yellow or white. He's still in his medically induced coma, but looks physically better as time goes on. Todays update I just got back from UCI. Aaron: aaron currently has a fever of 103. his brain pressure is 11-13 (good) but the doctors wont let you talk to him or touch him because it went up i guess. aaron had surgery last night. a screen was put into his abdominal area to prevent blood clots. the color in his face is getting a lot better. next week the doctors are going toput his ventilator into his neck instead down his mouth because they are going to repair his broken jaw. this is a good sign because it means that his body is getting stronger. the extent of his brain damage is still unknown. I have no updates on emily. Security is really strict on who gets to see her. immediate family only but they check id's now. i called her dad but he did not pick up and her boyfriend doent know anything either.

Wow that news is so mixxed, I am very happy to hear Aaron is getting better and that is great news. Unfortunatly i jsut went and checked over there and chris just posted this CONFIRMED INFORMATION: her mother is really stressed out. emilys dad just called me back and said that emily had passed away this morning at 11:00am. the viewing will be on friday night and the burial will be on saturday. i will keep everyone informed with the name of the church and everything. please pray for the families. Good news on aaron FORWARDED BY VIVIAN ON MYSPACE.. I haven't had the chance to see him myself, but this is what I do know from Sis, who got the chance to see him earlier today.. : aaron is doing very well.. : very well : his dad asked him to squeeze his hand and he did : and his aunt said please look at me aaron : so he opened his eyes and looked at her : he moves his head a lot : his arms and legs : he yawns : he moves his face A LOT : like every 15 seconds : we can talk to him : and touch him Amidst the grief and melancholy, Aaron's progress brings us great comfort.. Not much of an update on aaron but the information on his friend emily's service is also listed for anyone who would like to attend aaron has a good chance of making it though. tomorrow he is getting his jaw and chin fixed. he is doing well. hes still in the process of waking up from this coma. I went to see Aaron today. He does look a lot better. He can barely open his left eye, but still not responsive physically. Aaron moves his head alot left to right. The nurses told me to hold/touch his hand and talk to him. Once I did that, his heart rate/brain wave readings increased from the nurse's comment and the nurses told me to continue on doing that. His face lacerations looks to be healing very quickly and nurses telling me he's recovering at a good pace. :thumbup:

another update I just got back from UCI and when i was walking to my car i ran into aarons younger brother.. he told me that they [family] woke up aaron yesterday and he started crying and moving around. He is fully aware of everything thats going on i guess, minus emilys passing.

Update ]i just came back from UCI. he is looking a lot better now-a-days. hes somewhat responsive. if you call out his name and talk to hime he can respond a little. hes slowly improbving. A Fundraiser meet is being set up as speak. I will confirm a location and make a thread tomorrow.

:headshake That's horrible, R.I.P. Emily. Aaron, I don't know you, but know that I'm praying for your recovery man. Guys try and remember the cars and truck out there can't possibly react as quickly as you can on a bike. Especially at the speeds a lot of us like to push. Not gonna preach, just remember and be careful. I'd hate to read anything like this about one of you.

updates: Emily Dang passed away on July 15th, 2006. The metal rod that held her femur together caused her to have multiple strokes which caused her to be brain dead. her parents pulled the plug on the 15th. Aaron is getting a lot better. he can respond (mods yes and no) to some questions. he moves a lot around his bed. his road rash is healing well. they are moving him to his own bed in 2-3 weeks and letting him go home in 4-5 weeks if everything goes as planned. wow.... i havent been online in about 3-4 months.... i read the intire thread... im really sorry to hear about this incident. my thoughts and prayers for emily, her friends and family. watching the video on her put a face to the name and gave it a deeper feeling and emotion. R.I.P Aaron. wish you the best of luck and a speedy recovery. i hope things get better fast. reading this deffinatly motivates me to properly wear my gear from this point on... no matter what. everyone ride safe!

Update as of 8/14/06 Went to see AAron today. LOL all homeboy wants to do is talk, even though he still has the tube connected to his throat. Yuu can somewhat conversate with him, but his words are very little to understand. His words sounds like somone was gargling mouth and trying to talk at the same time. His older sister wanted me to tell everyone coming from aaron's dad that if aaron asks about emily just tell him "she's doing okay, she's in a good place" which technically is not a lie, but it's the best for aaron at this point. He keeps saying "i need to pee, i need to pie". He has no memory of the accident and had no clue that he had a passenger until aaron on friday or sat. ask his the doctor and the doctor told him he had a passenger. His parents were very upset at this point, but couldn't do anything. So his family is just giving the heads up.
