abbott 07-18-2006, 11:01 AM owoit my names abbott im from inverness and am in the middle of getting a gixxer at the moment , im swapping for my vectra 2.5 v6 im dying to get on the bike and have some fun (After i get my license that is !!!) the wife made the mistake of saying i could keep it in the house and that was the final nail for me woooooooooohoooooooooooo !! so im at work last night and the bird was using my msn with my name being " vectra v6 for sale as im looking for a gsxr750/1000" and a guy i have know for ages sent a pic of a stunnin yellow gixxer 750 saying he wanted my veccy !!! now thats what im talkin about gonna arrange something this week hopefully even if i have to pay cash on top i want this bike so bad !!!!!! so anyway in a couple of months im gonna be on the road on a back wheel near you !! :thefinger :arsenal :thefinger
I'm a Scot, mind you I live in Belgium!
You are getting a gixxer but have no license? explain? :headscrat
abbott 07-19-2006, 04:14 AM EXPLANATION:: I have wanted a bike for years but have not been in a circumstance where i have been able to afford 1 along with my car and then came kids then came family car! So now the bird is about to pass her test she can ferry about the children so i am getting my bike (hopefully swapping for my car !!) and gonna get it delivered to my house where i can mod it and take it out to my garden and sit on it and pretend to drive it round the backroads whilst making revving noises till the time comes when i go for my bike test !!! (planning doing it quite intensive ) as i said ive had many bikes before offroad and onroad up to when i was 18 so CBT and all that are taken care of just the problem of taking the biggy ! Wich shouldnt be to much of a bother as its more common sense really is it not , if you already know how to ride to an acceptable manner , hopefully all goes to plan and i get it all done sharp as im raring for a blast of this bike !! :bounce
i wouldnt ride a bike with no license trust me i have had enough troubles in cars over the years without adding more trouble now its basically a fresh start as i am sooooooooo bored of cars ! the v6 was my last final bid at cardom for a while , ive owned many a faster car but they just dont do what they used to do for me , i need something new thats gonna challenge me and JCBs are kinda slow so bike it must be !! And plus none of my mates have got them they all think theyre great in there subarus and all that stuff whereas i look at a bike now and go woooow like i used to with cars years ago i suppose it could be something to do with the fact i never knew bikes were so moddable its a fresh challenge as i have explained before theres not much i havent seen or done on cars myself whereas bikes i am learning a whole new world !!!
so what bikes have you ridden before?
what year is the bike you hope to be getting?
abbott 07-19-2006, 10:27 PM i have owned a pw 80 ,kx125 , cr500 on dirt and an xl125 and vfr 400 on the road and its a 99 750 i have been offered although im very tempted at saving a little extra and buying a k1 1000.
going by your previous bike experience I would suggest forgetting the thou
Even the 750 compared to your previous experience is a massive step up!
abbott 07-20-2006, 02:28 PM well thats thecar sold the boys comin round to pick it up on tuesday , and i only have to raise another 150 quid next week to put towards my 99 gsxr 750 yellow n black only 80 miles away ac couple of scuffs on 1 fairing but apart from that she looks niiice ! time to see about getting me a couple of lessons :yumyum:
couple of scuffs on 1 fairing
so I take it she has been dropped? Check the frame very carefully to make sure she hasnt been damaged in the spill. Probably not but better safe than sorry!
abbott 07-21-2006, 08:48 AM lol djr as you have seen on me other thread mate , this bike is a definite no no !!! i cant believe i nearly got ripped off , and its not going to be because of the owners ignorance as he reckons he got it off his dad so te Qs will defo be asked WHY !! lol :headshake
