Have any of you done it? Recommend it? Tried it? I was thinking about it because I was going to visit a friend in MexiCali/Calexico but wanted opinions.

The only crossing into mexico I have done was when I moved from Louisiana to Cali.

if you do it on a bike make sure you plan some other mode of transportation home. Unless you plan to eat, drink, sleep, piss, crap and dress on or within constant eye sight of the bike it will get stolen. And most insurance won't cover going into mexico

WE went couple of months ago probably 15-20 deep to Rosarito from Orange County. We knew the owners of Papa's and Beer so we parked in front w/security watching over our bike. Needless to say some of my homies of course drank a lil too much we ended up staying longer than we planned. We stayed there til 9 at night and drove home crossing the border around 10pm splitting lanes all the way to the boarder. It was fun, but i'd recommend to cage it up.

what route are you taking and from what city. Mexicali and calexico arent as bad as tj and rosarito Imho. I have friends that live in Brawly and i stay there when i go to glamis and or mexicali and we take the trucks and DB's and quads out there all the time with no problems

Gotta agree with R-Gressive..... TJ crossing is no fun, IMO, but Mexicali aint so bad... Went last year down to San Felipe

Ill be staying in Calexico. Went last week but in a car. Stopped at Club RA and it didnt seem like that bad of a place compared to TJ which is where I have been before. Im more concerned about mexican cops and what not.
