MotoGP Sissies

I used to think that all of the MotoGP guys were really tough and stuff, but now I'm going to have to start rethinking that. In the interviews on MotoGP.com yesterday, several of them were complaining about it being horrifically hot out on the track. The hi yesterday was only freaking 86 in Monterey! What a bunch of weenies! It has been up in the 100s for over a week here in central AR. Yesterday the hi was *only* 88. That felt so good I could hardly believe it! The hi today in Monterey is supposed to be about 77, which for me right now would be very nearly perfect for a trackday... Oh well. That's enough whining for now. Enjoy watching the sissies suffer in the blazing 77 degree heat. :headshake Chango

Have you ever been at the track all day. It gets hot. You gotta remember, these guys are spoiled and use to being pampered. It comes with the territory. Not racing in the rain is being a "weenine".....cough, AMA, cough NASCAR, cough.

Okay, it was my own ignorance in this case. I didn't realize a lot of stuff about Laguna Seca. I didn't realize it was quite so far inland, or that the track itself is basically inside a bowl, making it even hotter than the surrounding hills, combined with the warming effects of all that asphalt. Oopsy. My mistake. You may continue worshipping the MotoGP gods as you see fit. Chango P.S. - I hear the race itself was plenty exciting. I only got to see the first five laps and the last ten.

Yes We shall worship the motogp gods and sacrifice a piano bike. Somewhat exciting but to me dissapointing really as Rossi's M1 started farting out oil and crap.

Ya they said it's in a bowl and doesn't get the circulation it gets out of it and track temps were 133. That's pretty damm hot! So hot the track started to fall apart. Some of the riders Colin Edwards one of them had to get an ivey to stay hydrated, he was sick though. and B Boz went to the hospital for heat injuries.

I was there and I can tell ya it was hot and humid (heard it was 102) and in gear it sucked! You couldn't drink enough. They even forced the vendors to drop the price of water from $4.00 a bottle to a buck, some of the vendors started giving it away for free as a public service. But I had a great time! :bounce

it was hot as hell, we were sweating our asses off just sitting there. It was bad. it's not that far inland but the track sits in a little hole/ valley. And the heat stays there and no breaze. They said it was about 100 degrees on Saturday. It felt hotter though

Wussies? I don't think so these guys were cooking. You guys bitchen about riders being wussie and your asses sitting on the couch in an air conditioned room watching the race on speed chanel to me are the wussies. Not only the riders but the families that say on that hill in Sat when temp hit 104 in the afternoon are my heros.

if they didn't race, due to the heat, I'd call them sissies.

and the guys with Alpinestars suits have that new air conditioner that blows cold air in their suits. E. Boz said it was like taking a cold shower. It's been in the upper 90's at most of my trackdays this year and that is hot.

Doood, I was there and it was 102 on Saturday. The recorded track (asphalt) temp was measured with a pyrometer and indicated 151 fucking degrees. Sunday is was around 100, but it was probably closer to 102 again. I managed my heat better on Sunday. The coast was at least 25 degrees cooler.

It was hot as hell. I went with my three boys and I made sure they had a bottle of water in their hands at all times. I nearly forced them to stay hydrated. Thank God my buddy told me to make sure to bring some umbrellas. Those umbrellas were worth their weight in gold! I unfortunately had to use the shuttles because I drove there that Sunday (hard to fit three sons on a GSXR), and I was surprised nobody got into a fight or a riot would break out. Yeah, it was hot, but I would do it again, awesome sporting event. Can't wait for next years Laguna Seca MotoGP.
