gsxr600 top speed

I was wondering what you guys have hit top speed wise. I thought the factory specs was like 163 but i hit 165 on my 2005 gsxr600 all stock except exhaust. I was in 5th and it felt like i had more to go but i passed a car and was freaked out by how fast i flew past the car, it was ridiculous so i slowed down.

in a sportbike magazine they were testing out three 600 cc bikes to see with one came out on top in the test they had, and they sadi the top speed on a 6oo was 158. I think youre speedo was saying 163 but it was wrong becasue there is a big margin of errror.

I dont want to awaken any people still in denile. There all over :lol:and get pretty testy when someone says they didn't really go 200mph on their 600 . My speedo said this and that so I know I went that fast. I went -1 so now I have seen 172 for some reason but I know its like 13% off or something like that :hmmm: . B4 I went -1 I saw 167 flickering on 168 but I feel as tho I prob was topping out at 160ish and I say ish cuz unless you get a radar gun then its just a educated guess. There's also the guys that are like"my boys a cop and he let me top it out and my 600 went 176 blah blah........" :lol: . I get a kick outta those guys. I feel now that my top speed is close to 150ish from the -1 but I dont really do the top end thing anymore. I like to go 125ish in spurts but like 70mph thru some sweepers anyday. :thumbup:

Why TY :D Def dont make a habit of it but on a couple 4 lane highways in CT where Im from I have def topped her out a few times. Not a big speed junky but tracks are expensive and sparse around me. I know I'm not the only one. oh well :D

my top speed indicated 163 on the speedo, but as chrome600 said its probably off somewhat... :hmmm: no major upgrades just a yosh slip on... and yes it was on the street, because as I tell everyone the only track is a 1/4 mile strip which I get up to about 121-133mph......and on the turn circuit there isn't a straight away long enough to get up that fast...

I took myn to 158 stock, it felt like it still had alot more tho.
