In the last week we have had 4 bikes jacked....2 from gas stations and 2 from traffic light...these guys are bold. I'm in Henry county Georgia...just 30 miles south of Atlanta. If your in this area or are going to be in this area with your bike...stay on gaurd at all times.

I am SO sorry. I FEEEL for you...Mine was jacked about a week ago in Jacksonville, NC. (2006 Suzuki GSX R 600-just made FIRST payment.) The gay part is that my husband fights for our country's freedom, the freedom for thieves to get off scott free with our hard earned money. I told ANY and ALL bike riders I saw last week to keep a close eye on their "loved ones" you could say :) ....People getting thier bikes stolen, hard working folks trying to get by....what a damn shame. DEATH TO THIEVES!!!

Anyone have advice regarding lojack? Does anyone know if bikes are being jacked in Orlando? I am not worried about theft from my house, but when I am stopped somewhere.

:arsenal :arsenal or carry a firearm and shoot the bastard as he pulls away i hate thievs :bringiton So you are going to take a bad situation and turn into a life changing situation....ie going to jail for the rest of your life. Real smart choice there buddy. Just ride with other people and stay in well populated areas when not in motion. It is a motorcycle...it can be replaced.

I keep a glock 27 in my tank bag with a galco usa holster. my wife keeps a glock 23. we live in georgia also, and it's not known here for bad guys to come up to you and be nice and kind, and rub your back and have tea with you, it's a good bit more violent. And I know, my dad is Coroner here. it's one thing if your in the store/mall etc. and you see your bike/car riding off you can't do much more but hope you can get the cops to get where the bg is with your stuff. but, if i'm at a stoplight or somewhere and assuleted with anything more than a barehand or a punch,,, if AND ONLY if i can get a clean shot off it's done! and i'm not a trigger happy cowboy-redneck if you have to "empty the clip" you dont know how to shoot. one or two shots can stop a bg and most of the time not kill him. it's people that just go shootin up the place that give law abiding concealed carry permit holders a bad name. you are ohhh so right "It is a motorcycle...it can be replaced" a stolen bike in a parking lot is a different scenario from a jacking that happens a lot here in atlanta............ohh damn, this just turned into a rant,,,,Sorry But if you do carry in a car,on a bike, concealed however it is please get involved in an IDPA club so you dont turn out to be a trigger happy danger to us all...www.idpa.com

I carry a 9mm in my tank bag too, but if there's a gun pointed at my head when they're jacking my bike, they get my gun too.

I know this thread has been dormant for a while, but I live and frequent the areas where these incidents took place. I have been on high alert every since I saw this on the news. The robbers were hitting people in highly visible places and in broad daylight. I rode with a guy that said his friend was one that was jacked at a gas station a little after 1PM and the place was busy. They took his riding gear along with the bike, so that means they would of had your weapon. I too carried in my tankbag, but after hearing this I bought a shoulder harness. I usually prefer to carry my inside the pant concealed holster, but that wouldn't work while riding. Please only carry if you're licensed to do so and only use it only if your life is still being threatened. My occupation requires a firearm, however I am still personally liable if used in the wrong type of situation. Not sure if it were the same guys, but a female was killed during a home invasion only a few miles away from where these bike jackings took place. they took a bike and a SUV from the residence. The guy who took the bike was caught immediately at a routine road block before authorities were even aware of the homicide. Regardless of being affilliated or not, times have changed from having street punks pulling guns and doing nothing. These guys are pulling triggers so keep your eyes open and always alert. Shame that I am watching my 360 while sitting at stoplights and redlights. I even ensure that no one is following me into my subdivision and close the garage immediately upon entering.

i have two Irish friends that were living in Atlanta for a few years the both have gsxr's the younger one just bought a k6 600 the older one had a 750 and he only buys Arai helmets because he was shot three times in the head while somebody tried to jack the 750. he rode away up to 100mph bleeding out of his head then crashed. so bullets and crashes and still alive. but not really down with riding in atlanta anymore.

Here in Aus the only people allowed to carry guns are cops...and if you got busted with one would be up shit creek...also pretty damn hard to get em here...real tight gun law's.
