Ladies (and gentlemen as well) i could use some help selecting a second helmet to be used by passengers(read: female friends) and i wanted some help on which you find to be a better fit/color for girls. I think the size of medium will work but i only have had 1 friend try that and she fit perfect in both my RF-1000 Shoei Medium and an HJC Cl-15 medium i borrowed from a friend to use for right now. Do you girls think this is too big for most females? The other question is on which helmet to get. I have only a small budget( less than $150 and the lower the better). I have 2 i am looking it: Scorpion EXO 400 http://www.kneedraggers.com/image_storage/2/92/29293df693c3c070d74615e461fa4a79_refined.jpg HJC Cl-15 http://www.kneedraggers.com/image_storage/3/0f/30f4412ea3905f145b0b7fb4eb1cb6d9_refined.jpg The HJC will be cheaper but i have heard really good things about the scorpion but it is a very aggresive paint job. Any input is appreciated

Buy HJC, I have a friend who has been in 13 accidents on his bike and all of them with HJC helmtes. He has an ass load of titanium bones, but none of which are in his head.

My passenger helmet is a solid white HJC. (I wear an HJC helmet too.) Best bang for your buck.

He has an ass load of titanium bones, but none of which are in his head. i know this is way off topic but since it's my thread: WTF 13 accidents and he is still on the bike? Your friend have a death wish. and i wasn't so concerned about the protection factor especially since both are DOT/Snell helmets they both offer a high level of protection. I was more looking for info from the girls about the size, color and fit (i don't know what impact having long hair has and if oen is mroe comfortable than others). But thanks for the help i think right now the HJC is the leader

those are helmets made for guys, so I wouldnt recomend a size M. Maybe size S for the girls would do. I wear size XS in guys helmets. The size M helmet HJC I have is too big and moves on my head

I have an hjc xs for my girl friend and I wear a Scorpion myself. I had never heard of them when I went to pick it out but it is super comfortable and easy to clean.

I agree with ShortGirl, a Medium might be a bit too big for a girl. I wear a small in the women's icon helmet, but I know for sure that my fiance's arai men's medium is way too big for me. Maybe get a small just to be safe.

I have a small womans shark helmet. I think small would be best and go with scorpion, I use to have an HJC and it was like crap. Really loud and heavy but then again it's for a passenger so it doesnt really matter. You can prolly get a cheap helmet off ebay.

thanks everyone. i may take my friend with me to go try some on and see. i will also double check the fit of the medium on her. Worst case i may get the medium and my friend will get a small and we can trade when the need comes up. Oh and i don't think i will buy one off Ebay it's too hard to know if they have been dropped or abused without getting a new one. Some things i feel comfortable getting off ebay, critical safety gear is not one of them.

Some helmets off ebay are new out of the box. But in the case the helmet is damaged it should be posted that it was damaged in the advertisement. I bought a few helmets off ebay for friends and they were fine. Most times different online companys are starting to sell their products on ebay. You might catch a good deal. I think rrash from this forum sells helmets fairly cheap.

Punch in "Iron Pony" in the Ebay store search. You should come up with Iron Pony Direct Closeouts. Brand new discountinued helmets, jackets, gloves, etc. that are still in the box. I bought a $330 AGV Sport 1.5mm leather jacket for $90.

Walmart (in the automotive section) has full-face DOT aproved helmets-Black, White, some red one with a design, and a few others- for 70-100 dollars. You can get extra sheilds if needed and the sizes are between s-XXl.
