Just go with state farm now, they are a good company. When you turn like 25 your rates will drop by a lot. GsxrSrt6 08-30-2006, 08:55 PM alrighty thanks.. Warblade 08-31-2006, 09:58 AM state farm sucks when you 1st start with them...but stick it out....i was paying 120 full coverage of a f-kin dodge stratus when i was your age.....with a horrible driving record...but ive stayed with them for a long time......now i have my sportbike...suv....car....all on full coverage and im paying $162 a month on all 3....which iznt to bad...rocking a 1000CC bike xexyus 08-31-2006, 10:55 AM Im 24 and paying the same shit for full coverage with progressive AND im a safe driver too. I thought I was getting raped but now I feel somewhat ok =/ 05redgsxr 08-31-2006, 11:32 AM we've all been through it. just hang in there till you get to 25. I've been with state farm for 21 years. at 25 i got a break and also at 30. then when i got married I also got a break. bluedo 08-31-2006, 11:55 AM I agree......state farm is the way to go........
when my bike got stolen......I waited the 30 days and they gave me a check plus some extra for my helmet and cover and other stuff that I never even asked for....and then when I got my new bike they did not even increase my rates... qwksilva 08-31-2006, 12:08 PM i pay $35 a month for full coverage on my bike and i'm 23. GsxrSrt6 08-31-2006, 01:29 PM wow, thanks guys..like isaid i dont have that bad of a record, but like u said i guess every where is going to try to get the most out of you in the start..thank for the help:thumbup: Rdr4evr69 09-06-2006, 06:26 AM State Farm, 04 600 I pay $268 year..30/M oak1971 09-09-2006, 10:40 AM State farm is as far as I know the only company that does not discriminate against sport bikes. you pay by displacement. My gsxr 750 is $75 a year cheaper than my Shadow 1100 was. DuckyGSXR750 09-09-2006, 08:45 PM it would help you get cheaper rate if you have your car(s) with statefarm too. Engloid 09-10-2006, 06:43 AM I love all you State Farm guys... cause State Farm pays out well when their customers hit somebody. Wonder where they get all that money..?
My wife and I have both been hig by SF customers in the last year. In both cases, they paid out as well as could be hoped for.
Personally, I pay $75 a year for liability. TGsxR 09-10-2006, 03:00 PM Sounds like state farm is good for the long road, but I need to find a company that I can go through now thats not going to kill me. VSpeck 09-10-2006, 09:08 PM I use country insurance and so do most of my friends. i am the youngest at 20 but my insurance is like 30 or 35 a month on my 2006 1000 and all my other friends are 21 or over and the are like 20$ a month check them out the only thing they wanted from me was my truck insured through them also.
http://www.countryfinancial.com/SiteController Twelch8668 09-10-2006, 10:32 PM Does anyone know if state farm still covers you if you go down on the track at a track day? Greyinnam 09-12-2006, 03:55 PM I just started shopping around for a bike (been riding a 2002 dyna lowrider harley for about a year but it was my dads as I wanted to get used to riding a bike) and I finally found a dealership that will give me one of the first 2007 750s.....
Based on the fact my father got hit by a dump truck this past summer on his harley, I decided to get full coverage....
The lowest estimate I got for 25000/50000 (the lowest selectable) in coverage was 455 dollars a month..... putting it right at 5000 / year.
What are you guys doing at the age of 20 to get such a low rate? I'm 23, no wrecks / tickets on my record (2 wrecks, neither my fault. 2 tickets, 1 a stop sign and the other a seatbelt).
So again, whats the difference between what I'm doing when I get a quote and when you guys get one? Engloid 09-12-2006, 04:36 PM I wonder what you guys pay, and whether helmets are required in your states.
I suspect rates are a lot higher where there's no helmet laws. Beaz 09-12-2006, 05:06 PM If you go to a trackday yes As long as its not a race they told a buddie of mine
John breal070579 09-12-2006, 10:24 PM insurance companys all have one thing in common and that is to fuck every one. Thionk about it there are people driving for many many years and still have high rates. Go figure.................................... chance 09-14-2006, 07:50 AM SF is the cheapest I found. Unless you only want liability.... Gixxer Jay 09-14-2006, 12:23 PM I'm 34 and live in Alabama. I have full coverage through state farm with $250 deductibles on a 05 GSXR 1000. I pay $52 a month. I just referred a buddy of mine who is 23 and got a 06 GSXR 600 with a not so good driving record. He is paying about $80 per month with $500 deductibles. State farm has never screwed me over and will even pay out for all the performance upgrades as long as I keep the receipts as well. State farm is definately the Co. to go with for insurance IMO. vwsteve 09-17-2006, 08:35 PM State Farm rocks, never had a problem and allways had cheap rates and great service. I would check around at many differant agents as their price will vary among all State Farm agents, plus its nice to get a agent you like.
Steve RockGSXR01 09-17-2006, 09:19 PM 2004 Dodge Dakota full coverage, 2001 GSXR 600 full coverage, and renters insurance. $252 a month Engloid 09-18-2006, 08:17 PM State Farm's gonna get to pay out to me again!!! Fuck State Farm!!
One of their customers hit the wife's car in the back at a redlight Friday. Time for a new paint job.
Why do I dislike State Farm? Well, I had all my insurance from them for years. I filed a claim after a big hail storm that broke shingles and damaged my roof. Their adjuster told me that a bird had been burrowing up under my shingles, pecked a hole in the wood, and was trying to nest in there. :hmmm:
They said the damage was estimated at $400, and the deductible was $500. It didn't matter that the policy said that shingles would be replaced with "like kind and color" shingles...and there was no way of finding faded shingles to match what I had already. I didn't expect them to pay for an entier new roof, only to help me to get it done. If they'd paid me $500, I'd have been happy to pay about $1100 more myself to have it done.
The a few months passed and my basement flooded. I called to see if it was covered because if it was, I was going to call some pros out to dry out the mess. They couldn't tell me if it was covered until I filed the claim...then they said it wasn't covered.
About three months passed and they canceled my policy because I had filed too many claims. It didn't seem to matter that they hadn't paid out a fucking dime for to me. Fuck State Farm!! :fu:
Now I get the spoils of victory...cheaper rates, and the joy of fucking them when I get the chance...which has been about 4 times in the past 3 years. Bensett004 10-10-2006, 08:57 PM do you guys recomened full coverage? or how is plpd? lamby 10-10-2006, 09:27 PM i heard SF was awesome everywhere except NY. lucky me.... :headshake | |
