the safety course makes no difference in alberta. You don't even need a valid licence....I pay $530/yr pl/pd theft....full coverage woulda been about $850/yr....

Hey, wow you guys are paying quite a difference, I am 32 in Edmonton and I pay 618.00 for the year full coverage including fire theft and vandalism thru State Farm insurance. But State Farm will not insure just motorcycles now, it has to be with a vehicle, I have been with them since 2002 with my old bike and they changed the rule in 2004.

I pay $1000/yr. 2006 GSX-R 600. I have everything except vandalism. I do believe that the collision part of my coverave is about $400. which would take me to $600. I know too many people who went down this year to not think about getting collision. I also don't want 4 more years of payments with a wrecked motorcycle sitting in may garage either.

yeah i'm thinking i should put collision on my bike do i have to wait to do this until my renewel? or can i go add collision on at any time? I'd talk to your broker. I don't think they would have a problem doing it right away. Personally I would wait till the spring if you aren't going to ride too much more this year. A few of us in E-town are going to go riding tomorrow (Sat Oct 13.) It's calling for snow on Sunday. -JG
