unkut2003 09-24-2006, 07:06 PM Well I must say I NEVER thought it would be me posting this!
Today I was ridin with a friend and we decided to stop into the mall so he could get his phone fixed at Nextel. Well we were in the mall roughly 20 min. and when we got into the parkin lot and noticed my bike missing, we both stared at the spot it once sat.... waiting for reality to sink in! I immediately called 911 to report it stolen! Then, as my emotions kept tryin to take control, I called the insurance company, and made a report with mall security.
As much as I've done to my bike I know I'll prolly never see it again, and that I'll get raped from the insurance company! I did have full coverage, but my friend said that just covers blue book value.... which is roughly $7,200 I believe! With all my chrome and mods I'm close to $12,000+ in it!!! Hell they even took my fukin helmet and gloves!!!
I just hope and pray that the bastards that took it die a horrible death and that Karma comes quicker than usual!!!
02Telefonica 09-24-2006, 07:14 PM Damn man that sucks... I always admired how clean your bike looked. Hope it turns up and they catch the fuckers who took it...
(actually, I hope you catch them instead of police... i'm sure the punishment would be more severe)
02Telefonica 09-24-2006, 07:15 PM P.S. I'll keep an eye out on ebay... some of that stuff is bound to wind up within the next week. And if it was taken in that short of a time period, they are most likely professionals, and have had their eye on your ride
Solex159 09-24-2006, 07:18 PM thats horrible man sorry to hear. I park at the mall all the time. now im gonna be biting my nails whenevr i do:headshake

You know whats wierd, the cop said to call if I see the bike.... I told em if I see the bike I'll bring you a body!!! The lady was like, Sir, just relax... CALM DOWN!!! But yet the police were too busy to come out so they made a stupid phone report...:headscrat
You never know how much you love somethin till it's gone! When I was on the phone I'll be damn if I didn't feel tears on my face...:headshake
That totally sucks!!
Hope they die a miserable death
The reason for Rule No#1
Never leave bike unattended and out of sight, Unless Scorpio alarm is installled.
I told em if I see the bike I'll bring you a body!!!
Screw that, Leave the bastard in the wide open with a sign on it" BIKE THIEF.....USE TO BE ANYWAYS"
M_Easy 09-24-2006, 07:40 PM Damn, my heart goes out, man. I hope that YOU catch them.
franybanman 09-24-2006, 07:42 PM dude I know exactly how you feel. I had my first bike stolen from me may 1st this year the day after my birthday, and I only had liability. At first I was shocked then when i called the cops and noticed they really didnt give a sh!t i was pissed. A few weeks went by then i seen my bike at a club but on a different frame. I called the cops but they said there was nothing on those parts to prove it was legaly mine, so it was legally his. Then I found out the dudes name & address. So i was gona get him back but before i could the lil fuka joined the navy and moved away.
So my advice to you is keep your eyes out, because if it does show up, it will show up in short time. Right when you see him drag that thief's a$$ into a dark alley and beat him so he will never ride again. Jus make sure he's not able to recognize you and no one finds out.
unkut2003 09-24-2006, 07:48 PM Hey thanks everybody.... I got State Farm so hopefully tomorrow they work with me on my mods, helmet, ect... Hell I got all my reciepts so we'll see....:headshake
MattKatz 09-24-2006, 07:51 PM Well....better to happen now than in march....Hope you find these FUCKS....but yeah..prolly not. I always leave my bike out everywhere...We dont have a Bike theft problem in this neck of the woods.
MattKatz 09-24-2006, 07:53 PM Hey thanks everybody.... I got State Farm so hopefully tomorrow they work with me on my mods, helmet, ect... Hell I got all my reciepts so we'll see....:headshake
If you didn't have extra coverage on your mods..your probably screwed...from my personal experience with highly modded cars. All they are responsible for is the value of the insured vehicle unless there are provision made...and you will pay for the provisions.
Sorry to hear this man.
Engloid 09-24-2006, 07:55 PM I'm thinking about buying another 03-04 right now, so I'm on the hunt... and if I see one that looks like yours, I'll be letting you know.

Well when I got the insurance I asked for additional coverage and was told full coverage is the most you can do to a bike??? Atleast thats what my State Farm office told me???
Oh, and thanks Engloid....

Well...good luck.
Usually you can insure an additional amount on a vehicle...like for example..an additonal $5K might be like an extra $20 a month...thats how it is with most companies...Good luck though.

On top of the blue book.... thats $11,875.00!!!!! Theres NO FUCKIN WAY I'm gonna break even...:headshake Not to mention all the time, care, and labor that went into it! I swear I'd give up the whole thing.... money and all just to know who did it so I could beat their head with my fists until brains leaked out their ears!!!
Lyte- 09-25-2006, 05:50 AM as usual you posted in the wrong section... how ever i will just move this post this time
fordmstng66 09-25-2006, 06:59 AM that really sucks hope they find them. Your bike was clean
bluedo 09-25-2006, 07:08 AM holy fuckin shit that sucks........I had my bike stolen about a year ago and it was the worst thing EVER......I feel ya on everything being cold....its a bad bad feeling.......
I have state farm and there is a policy to get mods to be included on a bike, but you MUST ask for it......I also found out the hard way.....however she said there was a miximum based on the value of the bike......if a bike is valued at say 8,000 you can get up to about 2000 extra in mods (not like 6000 extra)........but I did not have it and only got full blue book value so I lost about 1200 in mods......but hope they at least find the bastards and kill em'...
keep us posted...
Smcneally 09-25-2006, 09:13 AM That sucks dude. Of course, I know exactly how that feels.
Just hope you'll get a new bike in a month. You CANNOT leave your sportsbike ANYWHERE. It fucking sucks that the world is like that, but it is. Anytime I see a sportsbike parked anywhere, I pity the person. It's only a matter of time. All it takes is 5 mins, a van, and 2 strong dudes.
I still say everyone in my area meets up, and we put a shiny GSX-R in a public viewing area. We'll wait like an hour max, club a thief... then wait for the next one.
Real sorry to hear that dude, you had a beautiful bike.
Next one, just don't park it ANYWHERE minus a garage or in plain view.
brire6 09-25-2006, 09:59 AM I have always had statefarm on my cars and 2 of them got totalled which I had mods done but no receipts and they were pretty cool on compensating me on them even though I didnt insure the mods. They just gave me extra for a rough estimate. You shouldnt have a problem
Lyte- 09-25-2006, 02:56 PM I dont park my shit unless its in a garage or in front of me for this very reason. +1
i went to a sushi place the other day and parking there is terrible.. i couldn't park in front of the place and either had to park around back (yeah right) or around the corner in front of an itallian place... i parking DEAD front of that place in front of the doors and picture windows.. everyone was staring at me. as i was in the truck trying to remove fuses to make sure no one was at least riding off with my bike had something happened!
unkut2003 09-25-2006, 05:52 PM Well I talked to the agent today and she seemed like a pretty nice person! She said that they don't go off of the blue book value, but a "fair market value"! So she said to get all of my reciepts together, and with the mods, year of the bike, VIN #, mileage, ect.... they send it to some company and they give State Farm a number for "Fair Market Value"! So.... lets hope I catch a break somewhere in this mess and get someone that really knows bikes!!!
Lyte- 09-25-2006, 06:40 PM thats what they did when someone with state farm hit my 929
unkut2003 09-25-2006, 07:27 PM thats what they did when someone with state farm hit my 929
So all was good in the end then???
So all was good in the end then???
Accidents and theft are two different things.
95% in accidents, the payout a good sum
In theft its 50/50
Hope you get something reasonable man
dementia 09-25-2006, 10:51 PM Sorry to hear about your loss. That year is my fav as far as the gsxr1000 goes and yours was definitely one of the cleanest I've seen. Hope things turn out alright.

tke4life 09-28-2006, 02:00 PM USUALLY when it comes to insurance they have it written in the policy somewhere as to what is covered.. when I got in my wreck they (progrssive) had it written in that they would cover $1000 in extras (mods, gear, etc..). Gixxer clutch 10-02-2006, 07:42 AM Did you have lock on it? Like a brake lock?
Bratva5 10-02-2006, 08:21 PM here try this http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/west/chi-0609150308sep15,1,1902729.story?ctrack=1&cset=true
Bratva5 10-02-2006, 08:24 PM Did you have lock on it? Like a brake lock?
Locks wont help most of the time. My buddy had 2 locks on his and a$sholes still snatched it. Most of the time those lowlifes use a van. It would only take 3-4 people and 15seconds.
unkut2003 10-02-2006, 08:28 PM Thanks for all the support. State Farm said they'll give me "fair market value"! They submit the bike with mileage, mods, ect to some company and that company then shoots them a price. So hopefully they'll work with me a little. I added up all my reciepts and stuff and I was $14,200 in it!!! So we'll see.....
As for the lock, no, just the handle bars were locked. I was left hangin with my keys in my hand!!!
Lyte- 10-03-2006, 09:37 AM So all was good in the end then???
they paid me quickly for my bike.. valued it at 6500 (i paid 3500 for it) they then made me pay them 1400 to buy it back... i submitted catalog prices for replacement gear since i didn't have my receipts they didn't even ask to see my ruined gear and cut me a check for the gear and got it 2 days later
nicklo 10-03-2006, 06:10 PM Sorry to hear it always liked your bike man. think I'm going to go put about 5 locks on mine rite now.
