K6blackyellow750 10-30-2006, 10:57 PM Does anyone here in NorCal ride highway 180 that goes along the delta from sac towards antioch? Also I'm dissapointed with most of the roads around here after riding altamont canyon by grant line road. All I have to say is DAMN! That road is so much fun it really gave me a chance to practice my form and leaning, some of the best twisties that i've rode so far. Can anyone suggest more twisties around frisco or sac?

I ride Highway 49 / Foresthill / Salmon Falls a lot. I haven't tried that mosquito run before though.
K6blackyellow750 10-31-2006, 12:14 AM hmmm, i might have to check those out. Thanks
bootsy 10-31-2006, 06:12 AM Have a try at Mines Rd in Livermore and Del Puerto Canyon in Patterson. I've been through there once, but I believe the two intersect at a little corner store called The Junction. From there, you could head up to Mt Hamilton Observatory, and enjoy the view of the Santa Clara Valley. Just be careful, as road conditions can vary, e.g. gravel and other debris in the road, and road to Mt Hamilton is more technical (just my experience).
ZZGIXXER 10-31-2006, 02:51 PM there are other roads up there, hwy 88 and 26....there are some nice twisties and very clean roads.
i have ride patterson roads, some are very rough roads, eat up your tires,...especially those soft compound.:hmmm:
K6blackyellow750 11-01-2006, 12:14 AM eh I'm not down with the real bad roads, I dont enjoy the 4 inch deep craters mid turn right in my line or those big road snakes. Altamont canyon however is lovely, since going there whenever i've been out riding I notice a huge difference in my capabilities and my confidence level. Before I hadnt really had the opportunity to lean on a big sweeper doing 75, grant it I've still got some chicken strips but now I have more techniques to use and improve on.

YOU dude !!! how are you??
if you want to bleed your lines, bring two botles of brake fulid for Saturday, about 11:30 am.
motor oil, oil filter, washer for oil plug ((i will show you what we talked about yesterday )). also bring some plastic cleaner...for your plastics. we will do a thourough inspection on your bike.... if you have 6k miles on your bike. we will clean and lubricate your chain, possible adjusted it if it's needed, if you want.
while changing the oil, we will clean all debris from engine and keep it clean. we will spent about two hours.
we will inspect your hoses, brake pads and other visual inspections....unless you want to take it to the shop and give your money away. let me know.

Do you mean 160? That runs by the river from Sac to Antioch. I ride it all the time. Can't get fast enough on it for real fun, though. And it's total bug city - I have to clean my bike, helmet and jacket off everytime I ride it.
K6blackyellow750 11-02-2006, 12:14 PM Yeah i meant 160, it sure is a bug city but the scenery is pretty nice although it's a bit crowded.
Sounds good for this weekend, I'll pick up the stuff i need on my way over, havent decided which oil I'm gonna go with yet.
Mister Tee 11-02-2006, 03:08 PM Between Walnut Grove and Sacramento, stay on the West side of the river until you get to the bridge at Freeport. It's less crowded, you bypass two towns, and there are tighter curves.
Well, you know, it isn't as close but Highways 128 and 121 through Lake Berryessa (for you, take 12 to 80 East, then North on 505, left turn on 128) are outstanding. Tighter curves, uncrowded, and hills too.
K6blackyellow750 11-07-2006, 11:48 PM I'll give those other highways a try sometime soon, and as for the west side of the delta, Thanks the whole time i was riding i was on the east side and kept looking across the river saying damn i should have gone that way! I'm probly gonna ride up there tommorrow morning for a quick before work jaunt.
cwsims84 11-10-2006, 01:50 PM I've rode it a few times. I live in El Dorado hills, but I have alot of family in antioch. its the riverroad it pulls right into rio vista and if you go left at that fourway stop you can to lodi...its pretty good. me and a buddy rode it the first night he had his bike at like 12:30 at night.
