Live in Longueuil, work in Mtl... How are you? If you are interested, there is another big site for Quebec riders. It's called m4e.com but it does not specialize on any brand of bike in particular. I know I spend most of my online time here.

how is it riding here? how many good months am i going to get out of next season?

Where are you from? Did you just get here? To answer your question: January- February- March ------------------------- No riding, expect for some possible freakish days where mother nature decide to take the thermometer a few degrees above freezing and, if your bike is accessible and not all winterized, you can take it out for a spin... on cold pavement/tires, dirty/salty road... I used to do it to appease the urge of riding . I don't anymore. Too dangerous, not much fun after all..., not good for the bike. April ---- A lot of riders start taking out the bike. Temps can be in the 10-15 centigrade. BUT: Snow melting, often water everywhere. Sometimes, snow under the sun melts but freezes on the road in areas that are in the shade... Be carefull of icepatchs. I don't go out much in april unless roads are dry and wether forecast is good. Basically, you take it one day at a time. You could still get a snow storm! Mai --- The real 1st month of the season. Good riding but be carefull of 1) cagers who have not seen a bike for several months. 2) all roads are not fully clean of abrasives applied during winter. 3) unrepaired potholes. June-July-August-September ---------------------------- The best months. July and August are often very warm with the gear. I prefer June and september. October-November ------------------ Nice riding and up to your resistance to cold and equipment (electric vest, skidoo suit, winter gloves/boots, etc). Again, you start taking it one day a time and listen to weather forecase (cold, rain, snow). Be carefull of 1) cold pavement/tires which you are not used to anymore from riding the summer months 2) fallen wet leaves on the pavement that can be more slipery then oil. 3) possible ice patches December --------- Same as jan-feb-mar. Not yet... I did the course once at St-Eustache about 4 years ago. I want to do it again. I wanted to wait for the "salon de la moto de montreal" to signup but I think I'll do it right now since the course fills up pretty quickly. Will you do it? Which track?

I am from St-Jean-Sur-Richelieu, French speaking, Got An old school GSXR-750WP (black restored...) Just did a ride on last thursday afternoon... A bit cold.... But not bad. I am thinking about track days, but wouldnt like to go down with something I worked on for two years... Might go to mecaglisse next summer; Waiting for the summer months now !!! Fred

Yup. The snow really hit hard on the moral. I'll work on my VFR tonight (redoing the engine and V4s are a pain to work on). That's will keep my mind off it.

im here to bring this thread back to life. just a question. how long does it takes to get a licence here in montreal? what are the rules of having a permit? is there a probationary licence? what is the FAST course? where can i take a motorcycle course?
