In a show down in the 1/4 mile :arsenal what yall think the results would truely be? Give me some detailed info? Let's say both bikes were equally loaded with all the "add ons" Out of Ten races with two very experience riders give me the break down that you suspect/project? :hmmm: What Yall think :headscrat Thanks, Dirty

Well since I've put my 04' 600 againt a buddies 02 600' at the 1/8 mile track and won everytime I would say the 04-05' 600 would win everytime in the 1/4 mile too. Best time of 7.828 in the 1/8 mile.

with any liter bike the newer ones will pull slightly ahead, unless its a squid on an 05 and some one good on the 02... Unless its an 04 750.. cuz for some reason those things seem to dominate all :headscrat

I guess he thinks the 04 750 was just magically made faster, vs. the 05s. dude, use your head man. I could see it being alittle closer in a 1/8 but not a 1/4! The power of the big bore bikes totally has time to come to life in 1/4 as the 600s and 750s start leveling off. Im guessing he rides a 04 750.

wasnt ment to be serious... have you seen the right ups and reviews on that bike? They say its the best 750 ever made.. and has been known to beat older r1s and stuff... Didnt mean it Literately... just sayin its a pretty bad ass bike to be packaged as a 750... And i ride an 02 1k wish i had an 04

They are saying that cornering is a little easier in a 750 and has more power then a 600... But anyways... it can be said time and time again... it's not all the bike... it has to do w/ the rider as well. But what he is saying dosen't have to do with CC's or mods... The original question "Is the '02 Gixxer vs. an '05 Gixxer" that much different. I don't think one is going to dominate the other, but with a highly competition between Suzuki... Honda... Yamaha... ect... they are going to improve performance each year, but still not give too much power. Think about it, if you are sold a GSXR 1000 with a godly amount of horsepower to someone who is used to ridding.. say a scooter... they are going to run into problems getting throttle happy. They will only give a certain bump over previous year(s) of production. P.S. I am too tired to review what I have just typed.. so sorry if I lost some train of thought halfway throught it.

ok the newer bikes are lil lighter and have a lil more power. Same rider, the newer bike would be faster of course.

if you are talking 02 1000 vs 05 1000, the 05 is definitely faster with an equal rider... i ran 2 stock ones this weekend on my 02 and they both pulled me up top.

Manufacturer are very competative that they always try to redesign their bike almost every 3 years. 04 600 got a new redesign engine and so did the 05 1k. I don't think any manufacturer would redesign their bike to be slower so it can't compete on AMA.

i would have to say the 05 would win cause over three years the new biker should be faster and lighter
