okay, some of you might remember my bike got stolen a while ago. well i finally got the call from the insurance agency. i paid 6800 and the guy i bought it from said he put about 6000 into the bike. so i get the call and the lady from AIG told me the value of my bike is like 51** i dont remember adn then plus tax so like 54**. i was like hell no. so i told my mom after i got off the phone and she was like no were gonna fight that. that means after i pay my 1000 deductable i would still owe like 1500 on top of that. thats a whole bunch of bull. i hope i can get more or do something about it. now i hope i find that kid to sue the f*ck out of or something and get money since i missed bike week and springbreak. and havnt ridden in over 2 months. just ranting.

Just so you know...unless you buy extra insurance, you will not get extra $$ for ad-ons like exhaust, FI Kits, motor work ect. They are going by retail/blue book pricing. Good luck.

What jimbo said is correct and tha is called stated Value and you did not purchase that... Your deductible is 1k because you chose to have lower Payments If you had 100 deductible or lower then your rates would go up like wise Ins pay what retail of bike worth not what you or anyone else put and do not pay for sentimental (sp) value. Looking at this I really can't see anything wrong on what happened here (sorry to bust your bubble) Produce some reciepts and pictures of what you have and hopefully the adjustor you have could possibly help you out a little more if they are not a ass or anything Good luck

And its for those reasons that I always purchase the extra insurance! In fact I called my insurance company today to switch the ins from my old bike to the new one. and better believe I will get the accessories covered on this one!

Just tell them you want bike at a stated value. Keep reciepts anyhow (use old shoe box ) Hey if you was near Texas I could point you to a salvage 02 1k for 4100

Some insureance companies automatically cover aftermarket addons without a deductible increase. Progressive does up to $2000 I think.

ok, my mom emailed the insurance company and complained and said were not excepting that. the guy emailed back and said that we need to show him that the bike is worth more. like finding another bike like it all hooked up and everything and see how much there selling it for. and also get the reciepts from the guy. so now i get to search around and find a bike being sold like mine for around 6500 or so.

yeah grab a cycle trader and take all the prices of the bikes like your and find the Mean (AVG) then take them all to the place or email to this person also If you still do not get any result tell him that you may have no other choice but to report him to Florida Department Of Insurance and you may get your self a better deal.

IF the insurance company says that they don't cover the aftermarket add-ons, AND they "total" the bike....you have the right to get those parts off the bike. In other words, if they weren't insured parts, they belong to you, even if they decide to total the bike. As for you owing money after getting the settlement... that's not their responsibility unless you get insurance that covers the payoff on your loan. Think of people that buy cars, total them within a week. They owe more for the car than it is worth....and they have to pay it out of their pocket.

Got to get that GAP insurance that will take care of the rest...I know a partner that bought a brand new Busa, had it for 3 months. He walked into a store in ATL and bam....he came out and van was going down the road with the double doors swinging and his bike inside. He got the tag number..(stolen) After the insurance paid the bike still had 2500 on it he had to pay. These days you pay for what you get....insurance (GAP).
