gixxergirl 04-15-2007, 08:38 AM So My Girl Got Me A Gift Certificate To Ride A Harley(i Have Some Older Friends That Ride Them) And I'm Not Sure Which One To Rent..? I Like The V-rod But I Was Seeing If Anyone Knew Which Is The Most Fun Out Of Em All! Thanks
ScooterRash 04-15-2007, 09:32 AM I have had a harley in my garage all of my adult life. While they do not have the fun factor of a sport bike, they indeed have their own place in the biker world.
Do not rent the Vrod as it is Harley's version of a sport/tourning bike. I have spent a little time on one and they are fun but nothing to compare with your gsxr. I would suggest you try out a Road King. I think you would enjoy spending the day touring the back country on a rumbling Harley? It's a very unique feeling. If you want to take your girl with you, put her on the back and you'll be impressed with the two up cabability of the heavy torque and you'll never know she is back there.
Enjoy the experience, although I'm certain you'll be happy to be back on your gixxer for the next ride

I agree, get a big rumbling hog. They are fun to ride. It is a different kind of fun than the sport bike, but fun none the less. I did the harley thing years ago, but always had that need for speed in my blood, so I got the gixxer.
Anyway, let us know what you decide, and have fun!!
SamIamNYC 04-15-2007, 10:31 AM ride the touring scraming eagle electra glide.... looks real comfy and you can ride and play your favorite hip-hop cd at the same time!!
tuctowngsxr 04-15-2007, 11:23 AM the heritage softtail, and the fat boy are also nice hogs
solow1k 04-15-2007, 11:54 AM Ive had a fatboy and a custom chopper. Now ive got my gixxer and a 98 heritage softail in the garage. I like having the best of both worlds. I would recomend a fatboy.
changbanging 04-15-2007, 12:23 PM If buell was an option being they are still harleys. I would try out the lightning xb12 just because i kinda like em, but not enough to buy 1. If it had to be a normal harley i think id try the fatboy.
gixxergirl 04-15-2007, 12:32 PM yeah they have buell there but i'm fairly sure they dont use those to rent, but if i could i would rent the buell
k2gsxr1k 04-15-2007, 02:07 PM v-rod it they seem cool
BallHawk3 04-15-2007, 03:02 PM Me? Personally? I'd pick the one thats makes the least noise.
I just can't stand the sound of Harley's. I find it very rude.
gsxr0203 04-15-2007, 06:50 PM Get a Softail Deuce, best looking harley ever made

Mister Tee 04-15-2007, 07:10 PM Nah, I'd go for a Road King. Classic Harley - that is if I were to get a Harley.
AC1108 04-15-2007, 07:31 PM I'll say Road King too. I rode my cousins once and it's like a Cadillac. Not a speed machine or made for the twisties but it's great for long rides and just cruising. He's got some Vance and Hines pipes on his that sound great. He came to the conclusion when looking for exhaust that it would be stupid to have something that makes you want to wear earplugs or even hear idle in your garage.
oldmopwater 04-15-2007, 07:34 PM the 883 sportster aint bad either
he who 04-15-2007, 07:34 PM road king custom...

jdkarafa 04-15-2007, 07:40 PM I would suggest a Superglide Sport, but they quit making them last year. Glad I got mine when I did. :)

Budyic 04-15-2007, 07:56 PM Maybe a V-Rod but I would have a Warrior befor that.
OhioGixxer 04-16-2007, 07:03 AM I would go with the V Rod as well.
stepup 04-16-2007, 07:07 AM the 883 sportster aint bad either

laydapipe 04-16-2007, 07:10 AM go fatboy!!!
gixxer750girl 04-16-2007, 07:18 AM :hmmm: I dunno....I know a lot of people who have HD's, and I'd still go with a V-Rod if I were given the opportunity.
homegoat1 04-16-2007, 07:20 AM low rider
JayC71 04-16-2007, 07:25 AM I'd get the biggest Hog they've got. They ride around town flipping off all those damn sport bike riders...
stupidfast43 04-16-2007, 12:22 PM Rode a friend of mine's dresser and although it had a big bore kit in it I was not impressed with the power but I will say for a day out they are ALLOT more compfortable than what we ride. Like I always say I will ride any bike anybody lets me ride just to experiance as many as possible before I get squished.
Dans01gixxer750 04-16-2007, 12:36 PM My favorite and if I had the money would be a Dyna Wide Glide. Very comfortable for sure. Don't get a Sportster or a V-Rod they aren't real Harley's. The Sportster is just junk and the V-Rod is German Engineered not even Harley.

Yeah the V-Rod is engineered by Porsche.
gixxergirl 04-16-2007, 02:02 PM thanks for all the advice i just love th look of the vrod so i think thats what i'd like to try, but i am not buying a harley no matter what just renting for the dya.. my girlfriend thought it would be a good gift and i am a hard person to buy for so this will be alot of fun
bigpat1802 04-17-2007, 04:56 PM Try out the Harley anniversery edition classic roadster 1200cc
brent2743 04-17-2007, 06:39 PM Try out the Harley anniversery edition classic roadster 1200cc

Turbo_Addict93 04-17-2007, 06:58 PM Damn try the Night Rod if they have one....its the v-rod but way cooler and i dunno if its faster but its pretty sweet looking for a harley
jdkarafa 04-17-2007, 06:59 PM my dad has that bike, i love riding it, esp the feeling of the whole damn bike shakin like crazy at idle '
