I have come across many people asking the same questions or variations of the same questions without searching the forum prior to posting your question.
For example, somebody just posted a question about bike temperature without prior searching the forum first. Well the question had just been asked a week ago, and I did a search for "TEMP" and came up with all of these threads, not including the one just posted.
http://www.gsxr.com/showthread.php?t=3289&highlight=temp
http://www.gsxr.com/showthread.php?t=3080&highlight=temp
http://www.gsxr.com/showthread.php?t=2878&highlight=temp
http://www.gsxr.com/showthread.php?t=2832&highlight=temp
http://www.gsxr.com/showthread.php?t=2580&highlight=temp
http://www.gsxr.com/showthread.php?t=1558&highlight=temp
http://www.gsxr.com/showthread.php?t=1370&highlight=temp
That is 7 Different threads pertaining to very similar things, and should answer the question about bike temp in many ways.
My point of this thread is to inform people that they should really do a SEARCH for the topic before posting a question, because it most likely has been asked already.
I agree, if everyone would just take a second and look at the top of there page where it goes from User CP, FAQ, Memberss List, Calendar, New Posts, Search, Quick Links, and Log out. Hit the search button and just type in ex: temp, or ex: exhaust. I'm pretty sure a lot of people have asked the same question or something similar. Now if it doesn't find anything then start a new thread. I mean come on everyone the button is there for a reason so please use it.
Thank you

I hate to admit it but the guys are right! and sometimes you'll pick up on some stuff that might not answer you question directly, but you'll get some really helpful info for another idea you might've had in your head. 9 times out of 10 though, the search will take you where you want to go. even if it takes a few tries. change the wording and at least you get an answer right then and there when you find what you're looking for, plus it save ALOT of space where I can start some new threads dammit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If Everyone Only Did Searches, And Everything Has Been Answered, What's The Point Of Having This Forum? You Could Maybe Turn It Into A Faq Page Instead, Lol.

If Everyone Only Did Searches, And Everything Has Been Answered, What's The Point Of Having This Forum? You Could Maybe Turn It Into A Faq Page Instead, Lol.The point is to come here and get the info you need and to chat with fellow riders who share the same interest as you. The reason why we say do a search first is because many questions have benn asked and answered more than once and youll be able to find the answer your looking fr and also saving us from taking the time to answer the question for the millionth time. If you did a search and found the answer your looking for then you wouldnt have to waste the time of posting a new thread and waiting for a reply to get your answer. Chances are most questions have been asked and asnswered before. It saves everyone time by doing this.

the search function always seems to bring up crap results
like i searched for "gas mileage" and the search engine brings up stuff about signal lights, exhaust and stuff that is unrelated and doesn't even have GAS MILEAGE mentioned anywhere in the found threads..
just my 2 cents
