This is for all of you that don't want that "hyper blinking" effect you get after installing led blinkers. level of difficulty - 1 out of 5 Install is on a K4 GSXR 750 but will be exactly the same for K4-K5 GSXR 600/750 and similar for other models. 1. Get LED flasher relay. Purchased mine from ebay for about $25. If you are electrically inclined you can probably build your own for under $10. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v734/dj_skillz/led%20relay%20install%20K4%20gsxr/1b03_1.jpg 2. Remove front seat to access factory signal relay. 3. Disconnect the negative (-) cable from battery. (safety first!) 4. Locate and unmount relay/fuse block. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v734/dj_skillz/led%20relay%20install%20K4%20gsxr/IMG_0325.jpg 5. Under the relay locate and cut the brown and light blue wires. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v734/dj_skillz/led%20relay%20install%20K4%20gsxr/IMG_0309.jpg 6. Connect the brown wire from the factory relay harness to the +12 wire on the new relay. (In this case it 's the red wire) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v734/dj_skillz/led%20relay%20install%20K4%20gsxr/IMG_0320.jpg 7. Connect the light blue wire from the factory relay harness to the wire that goes inline with the led on the new relay. (In this case it's the yellow wire) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v734/dj_skillz/led%20relay%20install%20K4%20gsxr/IMG_0314.jpg 8. Connect the ground (-) wire from the new relay to the frame or negative post on any relay you can get to. I "temporarily" connected it to the negative (-) post on the battery. 9. Tidy it up with some electrical tape and tuck away the new relay. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v734/dj_skillz/led%20relay%20install%20K4%20gsxr/IMG_0328.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v734/dj_skillz/led%20relay%20install%20K4%20gsxr/IMG_0329.jpg 10. Reconnect the negative (-) cable to the battery and test out your new relay. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v734/dj_skillz/led%20relay%20install%20K4%20gsxr/IMG_0330.jpg *optional* my relay came with 3 wire loops to adjust the flash rate. If it is still to fast for you, cut one loop and it will slow down the flash rate. if it is too slow, simply reconnect the loop. I ended up cutting 1 loop. Stay tuned for more goodies and tutorials in the near future........ http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v734/dj_skillz/led%20relay%20install%20K4%20gsxr/IMG_0332.jpg

awesome mine do the super fast blink, the resistors that came with it lasted the 1st ride then fell apart. ill try this to slow em down

this is a little off topic bbut i figure i should juist ask yall instead of posting a new thread... my rear blinkers went out last night... i think my gatorade had leaked a tad bit,,, but anyways, i have the front seat pulled tryin to see if theres any fuses or anything, but no... nothign blown.... what should i check ??? 04 1000 thanks!

Great writeup. . Only thing I would change is to use heatshrink, but thats just me

If it's only the rear blinkers that are not working it may be the actual bulbs since the front and rear use the same flasher relay.

cant you measure the resistance across the circuit when installing the leds and add a resistor or two to equalize the new ones to the old ones. Seems a little easier to me?

I need some help, the walk through talk through you gave was good. Have you any idea how to do it on a K3 GSXR 600? The fuse/relay box you talk about is mounted on the front of the bike, when this was disconected the indicators still worked. I have no fooking idea where the relay is. Cheers JJ

I heard that just using resistors inline with the led can be risky. If you get cheap resistors they can overheat and blow...just what I heard.

yea, thanks,,, it turned out to be a simple short in the bulb-holster... thanksagain

the resistors wont blow leds barely pull any power thats why they blink so fast. anyway yes using a resistor inline will work i dont see why you would have any problems.

just wondering if your friend ever did the mod to his 02 gsxr?

just wondering if your friend ever did the mod to his 02 gsxr? +1 And how would you build one from Radio SHack parts? or would it be much easier just to order one?

if you're concerned about it, put a multimeter in series on mA setting, take the reading and multiply by 12 (that's your voltage), the result will be Wattage.. double that and get a resistor that's in that range, and you might consider dual wall heatshrink over that, it's got glue inside the shrink so it's great for keeping all moisture out. Anyone have any luck installing Rumble backdraft led signals on an 07 gixxer 600? Mine don't fit, only one attachment point leaves them loose and crooked.

I have tried many different relays and this is the only one that actually works. Fitted mine today.
