ok i just got a 00 gsxr 600 , but it has a 750 motor in it and f/i on it had wire probs and crap so i took harness off and got a new one with pc tbs coils and everylil thing that pluged into the harness off a running bike , i get it all on mine and try to start will idle but when i go to rev up wont go past say 5000 rpm and when temp hit round 100 it dies. i check the codes and no codes so thats ok i guess . i dont know the year of the motor or dont know how to check. so whats the prob here ? lol any help ? thanks all

all i can say without actually looking at it, is quadruple check your wires. you might have forgot to hook up a connector. i dont think a newer 00 750 motor will fit in that frame so it must be a 98-99 750 motor. its a common swap.

if you dont know what year the motor is, how can you put in a new wiring harness for that particular motor? 01-03, 04-05, or 06-07 motor? all are diffrent in some way or another and have diffrent wiring harnesses. also, are you sure its a 750 motor? ive seen alot of people make the claim to hae done a motor swap to help sell a bike faster. 90% of people dont know what to look for when verifying what size motor it is.

ya its a 750 and the harness i got is for a 02 off ebay and thats why i got the tbs that went to the harness and the pc and everyother thinkg that pluged into it , i put it on bike and idels fine no fi codes , thats where i am now, and i got it for 350 lol with a lil dent in the tank all thats wrong with it , but wish i had the blue and white body work

sounds to me like theres more than a dent in the tank thats wrong with it.

lol ya that part lol but just looked at it and its way over full on oil . think that might make it not rev up? and the harness pluged into everything nothing left over .maby bad fuel pump? and getting another motor is not a big deal my sponcer is oz cycle salavge so stuffing a 1000 on t not a big pita? lolmight go that way

the 01-03 fuel pumps are notorious for clogging and giving a low output. the sputter usually starts around 6K rpm and doesnt allow the bike to run right above that.

ok ill dig it off the tank, someone before me did the jb weld to stop the leaks lol i know tuns on the tlr1000 havent had a i4 in long time does anyone knoe the psi for the pump?

ok thats kewl for the help, you think over field is a prob with oil? lol on side stand its above the site glass, i fig would be a prob ill drain it tomarow and try again
