Dude that totally sux!! Speedy recovery. What happened to the 17 year old? did he stop? obviously he did, cuz you know his age, but is he liable for anything? Or, did you hit the car then tumble?

LittleFoot

as far as i know he is liable. when he pulled out, i hit the brakes and immediatly went down on my right side,, when the bike hit the ground i tucked and rolled away from it. the bike ende up smashing into the back of the minivan, and i rolled to many times to count of to the right and unfortunatly i roled right into those cinder blcks.

REMEMBER it is their road and no one elses. there should be a Bike lane or 2 wheel lane, Kinda like the Diamond lane, It be awsome, It wouldn't have to be as big as the normal lanes and + You could ride in peace, withou cars cutting you off. To bad, It shall stay in my dreams for now :headshake Hope you have a speedy recov.

To bad, It shall stay in my dreams for now :headshake Hope you have a speedy recov. Now wake up YOUR DREAMING!!! and I will tell you why.. some bitch in a minivan or suv on her cell or some a$$hole will pull into the lane just to get ahead of all the rest of the traffic and all or just plan vare over into the lane cause she is too busy talking on the cell, or putting makeup on or so blonde she doesn't know left from right, and you will end up dead by idiot talking on a cell phone while driving an suv or minivan or a moron in a hurry who thinks he owns the whole road and your on HIS rode just like these idiots/morons in suv's and minivans think. Now you know how much a a dream it is and how reality is, but damn would be a killer road if we could have it but as I stated above, never happen suv's and minivan drivers and morons in general will still cut everyone else off and use it to get ahead or vare off into you due to cell phoneidis/blondeism./ariheadism.... :funny: BUT sad and true...

Could you offer a little more description and assessment of your crash? Can you describe the section of road, your speed, how much stopping distance you had, in hindsight could you have swerved vs. braking, was it necessary to lay it down? The more details the better. Your accident can serve to help out the rest of us in the future. Thanks.

Glad to hear your OK. I'm still recovering from my wreck three weeks ago. I'm sort of opposite of you. My bike got the worse and I limped into the hospital with only a hole in my knee. Yes, gear will save your life.

I think you missed my point, I have the gear and wear it but I saw a big hole in the jacket from the picture. It appears the jacket served it's purpose, but if he thinks something else may have helped I'd like to hear it.

I was making a point of what if he was not wearing the jacket? Well if he wasn't that would definately suck but he was and I want to know what he thought of the jacket since I have the same one.

well to awnser one question,, i will have a back plate in my next coat!

LittleFoot
07-24-2005, 11:07 PM
as for the jacket, i didnt slide too far before i hit and stoped. It shreaded pretty quick! This jacket deffenitly saved my ass in my situation, but if i would have slid any further on my arm or back i would of been shreaded up along with the coat. I think i will bbe trying leather next  'This is pretty much the path i slide from the bottom of the photo, to the cement blocks and mail box's where the people are standing. Doctors are just now letting me start physical therapy and this accident was on april 25th

In NC its illegal now to have blocks at the mail box. People still have their boxes done that way. There even using metal post to enforce wood mail boxes....u really don't realize how dangerous a dam mail box it until you bang one..... Good luck on the comeback! :arsenal
