mygsxrwillspanku 06-03-2007, 07:41 AM i was looking around and found GPI Industries website and looked at there stands and it was a package set for $89.99. thought this was pretty good but i was wanting some thoughts on them.

you da man 06-03-2007, 08:58 AM Looks like a pain in the ass due to short length of the stand which would require alot of leverage to lift the bike. The forkstand design is something I've never seen so I dont' know how well the design will fit under the fork tubes.

yeah looks like it. i havent ever messed with any stands so idk
you da man 06-03-2007, 10:53 AM People on this site (and the average sportbike rider) rave about Redline stands or Handy stands. Those thin tubed stands can't compare to Pitbull or Powerstands. Vortex and Woodcraft have really come a long ways in their stands as well. The initial investment in a good set of front/rear stands is about $300 but worth every dollar compared to those flemsy stands.
mygsxr69 06-03-2007, 05:35 PM a buddy of mine around the corner just got these stands a few weeks ago and he likes them alot. When he told me he got the set for $90 I thought they were gonna be cheap, but they are very sturdy and have good weight to them....so they arent junky. I am going to pick up a set for myslef next week. I think you'll be happy with them if you need some stands at an affordable price.
geyev 06-03-2007, 11:37 PM They don't look too bad, I've got a bunch of different stands around the shop. Im starting to like these type models, lighter and alot cheaper!! I must say tho, pitbulls are still the way to go if money aint a issue!!
AC1108 06-05-2007, 07:40 PM Anyone ever built a set of them? I have all the crap needed to build a set and wouldn't mind making them out of something that I know I would never have a problem out of. I'm a stainless nut so I would have to build them out of some 304 or 316 SS pipe. Bitch to bend when building but that will be the last time they are a problem.

crap!! Spend some cash on the good stuff like Pitbull or Vortex. I have both and like them equally.
bboy_RES 06-05-2007, 10:59 PM i just bought a pair of t-rex stands (rear swingarm/spool stand and front fork/triple tree stand) off of ebay for $150 shipped and i love them. the front and rear stands work great. i haven't tried to use the triple tree stand yet.
mygsxr69 06-06-2007, 10:00 AM I ordered my set of these GPI stands today, I will post some pics and what I think about my set when I get them. Like I said, my friend has the gpi stands too, he likes them and i have seen them, so i know they are good quality for the price. I'll post some pics and stuff when they are delivered.
Captain Squid 06-06-2007, 10:16 AM I use the redline rear stand and opted for the pitbull stem lift. I love them both, but with the redline front stand, it didn't lift the front high enough to take the fron wheel off without unbolting the fender, so I opted for the pitbull front
mygsxr69 06-10-2007, 08:22 PM ok, i got my set of gpi stands on saturday and here is my opinion.......they are worth every penny !! These stands are great.
1. Heavy duty one piece steel tube design
2. Each stand weighs about 15 lbs ( they are not made thin junky tubing at all ), they feel solid and strong as soon as you pick them up
3. Comes with both spool adapter and pads that lift via the swing arm ( i have spools installed so i use the spool adapters )
4. Lifted the bike with the rear stand and then sat on the bike......it held rock solid and it didnt move at all !!
5. Front stand works equally as well and hold front forks nice and firm
I give them two thumbs up for price and quality. I tried posting a pic, but it keeps failing to load, sorry

pure_ego 06-11-2007, 06:40 PM can't tell you about those exactly.. but I got a set of the cheapies from handy industries and have been using them non-stop with 3 different bike for about 3 years now... if I ever need another set (and I do, but I'm cheap when it comes to that stuff) I will buy another set.

I agree with you. The inexpensive stands are the way to go. I am extremely happy with the ones I got from the guys at GPI. They were very helpful customer service wise as well. I Sent them a question just to make sure it would fit my gixxer and they answered me within hours....thats good enough to win my business right there.
K-NUTZ 06-23-2007, 02:38 PM how long did it take for them to get to you after you ordered?? I am going to order a set right before I move back to the states and have them shipped to my parents house where my bike is being sent... I just dont want the stands to get there before I do... trying to suprise my parents and come home a few months early... they dont think im getting stationed back on the east coast til october instead of august when imma show up for my mommas birthday...
mygsxr69 06-23-2007, 04:42 PM The shipping was kinda quick....I ordered them and had them delivered within a few days. Maybe you can email them before you order and ask them to hold it aside for a few days till you get home.
grmhowar 06-23-2007, 05:39 PM Chances are I will be buying these in the near future. Once I do I will post my thoughts.
grmhowar 06-28-2007, 10:18 AM Got my stands today. Love em. Nothing wrong with them. Easy to use
AC1108 07-13-2007, 02:56 PM Looks like everyone has had some fairly good luck with these stands so they look like the ones I'll go with.
grmhowar 07-13-2007, 08:29 PM you are making a wise decision with GPI
grmhowar 07-13-2007, 09:38 PM here are my stands
GSXR Chris 07-13-2007, 10:00 PM they now only have the ones with factory blemishes:headshake I was thinking about getting one for my sv650s if they fit.
grmhowar 07-14-2007, 03:25 AM yeah mine were the blemished ones. I emailed them before buying them asking how bad they were, and they were straight forward with me. And to be honest they are not bad at all. I can take pics if you want to see how bad they really arent.
AC1108 07-14-2007, 05:50 AM I look at these about the same way as the jacks I have for the cars. They are boogered up and the stands will be in time as well. I'll take a factory blemished set for $90. I don't have a show bike so if they are a little screwed up so be it.
mygsxr69 07-16-2007, 09:25 AM i agree.....I dont think anybody who has purchased these stands can say they arent worth every penny. I have directed a couple of friends to GPI ( www.gpiindustries.com ) and they love their stands too. The stands are 99% perfect......the blemish stands just have some scratches in the paint. Structurally they are perfect.
those look pretty good - i bought some no name stands off ebay for the same price, only downside being that it was only a paddle type rear (which i'll convert to spool style for all of $6 maybe)
one upside to the stands i got were that they have an adjustable fork mount (for uneven fork tubes).. though, not sure that i'll ever have a problem anyway...
i like the 1 peice design and how they dont lift super high like the pitbull ones ive used in the past
