Austin here but I am sure that the rain is keeping someof us in. Lot of people show up to Yella Belly and Sonic I think out that way

well im from south texas Mcallen, but i bought my bike over in granbury about a month ago i hate that fuckin bike shop. every time i go in there for anything everyone but Dane is a fucking prick to me.. plus the parts guys dont know shit about bikes. i went in there to order some mirrors for my brothers 06 636 and the dude was like they dont make any for the 06.. im like well then order some for an 05. so then that dumb fucker tells me they wont fit.. (for those who dont know kawis, saying 05 parts wont fit on an 06 is like saying 06 gsxr 600 parts wont fit on an 07.) sorry for the novel i just really hate that fuckin shop

Big D I just p/u my 06 gsxr 1000 in May after my 900rr threw a piston rod. Any mod must haves (basic to technical) pls let me know. I respectfully waited 2 1/2 mths before ripping fender off, adding frame sliders & ordering a slip-on. And if you aren't going to ride in the rain this summer, you aren't going to ride.

Usually out riding every Thursday night, and when the weather gets warmer will be out on Saturday nights in downtown and greenville avenue, tons of females fall in love with the bikes, almost guaranteed to pull one.... Trying to ride on Sunday I saw something about people riding to Texas Motor Speedway on Sundays but idk if that's still going on.... Get at me if y'all wanna ride I got a couple others that will ride sometimes we get a pretty big group just depends on what everybody has to do

Whats the bike scene like in Texas? whats the riding like? im thinking of moving there soon to move in with my dad he lives in Wylie, Texas. Is the TWS a good track? and where is it relative to Wylie? lol I have alot of questions :laughingr right now im at school in Burnaby BC Canada doing a motorcycle mechanics training program so ill be looking for a job in a shop when i move down there, what do you think of the chances of finding a job as a motorcycle tech are like? lots of shops around? if you can answer any of these or help me out at all it be much appreciated :thumbup:im SUPER excited to move down there

See the reason I would say jobs are better there even with the bad economy and all that is because here there is about 4 possible shops i could probably get a job IF there is an opening and most positions are seasonal only, some get kept around all year but some get laid off when winter comes around. also our riding season here is 6 months it sucks lol i think if i want to get started in the motorcycle industry and I have a choice between Texas and Calgary since i have parents to live with in both places Texas is better off than here in Calgary... right? Id like to come to some of those bike meets and rallys too! here in Calgary they are not to common. The bike scene down there is WAY bigger than here I think. Wylie is right near Plano not too far north east form Dallas

Even in the hotest month of August here in MA/NH I rarely put the AC on. So how hot does it get and is it usually a dry heat or a hot muggy heat?:hmmm: We get on average 8 months of riding after that it is either too cold, icy or snow covered to ride. I assume you have year round riding excepting maybe a period that for SOME it is too f'ing hot to ride?:hmmm: On the other hand is Texas the place for a sportbike rider to be??:headscrat:infrandom

Generally even in "Winter" the temperatures are up and down and the cold USUALLY doesn't last more then a week or so before we start to warm up again. Tonight, I went for a ride and left around 12 AM with a temperature of 66F. True, this winter has been colder, longer but it is still Central Texas. Just don't generalize Texas as weather varies greatly depending on where in Texas you live. As for the first part of your question, well, you will need to ask in the South West forum.
